I recently had an experience with Mike's Electric that left me quite disappointed. As I'm not the electrician, I'd expect the experts to ask the appropriate questions, especially regarding the layout of my home (and that it does not have a crawl space), before quoting the service. The technician had more than sufficient time to ask the appropriate questions during our text and phone calls between the period 9/26 - 10/4. We meticulously planned the job over several days via phone and text, and we agreed on pricing to replace three ceiling lights with LEDs. However, to my surprise, on the day of our scheduled 12 pm appointment, the price was suddenly raised from $125 to $200 per light--a 60% increase. It's a lesson learned for me to always have backup options to prevent falling victim to such bait and switch tactics. I cannot recommend this company.

I'd also like to mention that it's my townhouse that I rent out and not a building as the electric company referenced in his reply btw...

I needed a major panel upgrade and sub-panel to bring power to the backyard (to power a new gate) pretty quickly. It was the CA raining season and they came when the weather allowed and completed the install in 2 days. Fully inspected and passed without issue. Mike and Robert have been doing this for a while and they are both great. Friendly, responsive, efficient all that you need with electricians.

They recommended all the right things and got me squared away in no time at all. I got a few quotes and they were not the cheapest - but do you really want to cheap out on electrical work?

They are local and we want to support local businesses. That means they care about the neighborhoods they work in.

If you need a licensed, responsive and local professional electrician - then they are your team. Can't recommend them enough.

I highly recommend Mike's Electric Company. Mike and his partner replaced the recess lighting, ceiling lights and fire detectors in my home. I could not be happier with their work. They are also both really nice gentlemen which made for an excellent service experience. I will be using this company for my future electrical needs.

While I had what seemed to be a small problem -- a light switch went out -- I was unable to find the correct breaker and thought, to save my skin, I'd find a local electrician here on Yelp. Mike, and his son Robert, were fantastic at how quickly they responded to my inquiry, gave me a quote, and scheduled an appointment for the first thing the next morning. All on this site. Robert called just before he arrived and was absolutely on time. We all appreciate prompt and courteous contractors, right? Our home was hand built in 1936 and the wiring, which Robert told me was ""knob and tube"" is quite quirky. It took a bit of time to check out all the possibilities and, as happens with using top professionals, I learned quite a lot through the process. Robert also showed me how this type of wiring is susceptible to rats chewing through the aging tubes of cloth which cover the bare copper. He gave me valuable information about other reasons to consider re-wiring our home to update it sometime in the future. Yet, he also checked out everything to let me know our electrical system was currently safe. There is nothing more important, so that was a relief. Robert gave me his card, and it is now in my contact list should the need arise. I will not hesitate to call again with any electrical problems and, certainly, Mike's Electric comes with my highest recommendation should you need electrical work.

Mike fixed a major electrical issue I had put off correcting because another electrician couldn't even diagnose the problem and I expected the work /cost would be enormous. Mike and his partner were excellent. They fixed the issue and upgraded my wiring at a reasonable price - they even did a couple of extra minor things at no charge. They were fast, professional and weren't even messy. Great experience - thanks.

My electrical box was arcing. It was pretty startling and I called and they came right away to check it out and made sure it was safe. They neatly installed a new box and in the process fixed other issues I was having with the electric on one wall. They worked with me and my landlord for payment. I will be recommending them to my neighborhood!

I'm not a tech or electric savvy person. I called Mike and he was quick to respond. Mike and Rob came the same day and helped install an automatic light switch for me. I had no idea what I was doing! Also, they were kind enough to double check the outlets as well to ensure they were working properly. Mike was honest and even recommended that instead of building out more outlets, it's cheaper to buy an extension.

Overall, I highly recommend Mike and Rob. I will use them again for future projects.

We have a very defective solar power system that is inert because the ""installer"" scammers put in an inverter that they knew was defective!
