I got screwed too. They are bait and switch artists. They lure you in with their ads, then they screw you. I called them to clear a drain on Thanksgiving and the ""Bubba"" that showed up wouldn't do it unless I okayed an extra $260 to remove a pipe plug he said that was stuck (likely story.) DON'T USE THEM!!!!

My wife and I had a mainline stoppage over the Thanksgiving weekend. We had done business with these guys before without issue so we felt comfortable using them for this. The guy that came out was anything but a smell good plumber. He reeked of cigarette smoke and had a filthy shirt on. He scared the hell out of us and then said he could only clear the stoppage by installing a ground level clean-out drain in the yard. Cost-$2400, ouch! We were in a very bad position and didn't have time to shop around so we agreed. The plumber was extremely unprofessional and smoked several cigarettes while here. He asked for drinks while he was working and left the trash in the yard when he was done. He left gloves, butts, cans and chunks of removed pipe. My garden hose was stretched across our rose bushes and the water valve was left on. Ridiculous! Then I come to find out that the work they did was not only unnecessary but should've cost around $800. I called my bank and stopped payment on my check. I tried negotiating a more reasonable price with MDP but the management there is no better. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB and they called me with a much better attitude. I was able to talk them down to $1000 but what a horrible taste this whole experience has left in my mouth. Never again!

Making the appointment was easy. Window was 7 AM - noon on Sunday. Question - do they start at 7, or later? Because I didn't get a call from the tech until almost 11. So then he showed up, looked around a little, decided the cleanout in back was too small to handle the mainline snake, and started discussing the installation of a mainline cleanout for $2600. And 6 months free financing is available. After the sales pitch, he gave the drain a try. It didn't work, so I didn't pay, and he left.
So then I removed a toilet which provided a 4"" opening straight into the mainline. Another rooter service showed up, ran the snake through and cleared the drain, ran an inspection camera through and let me look at it, Total time: maybe 30 minutes.
I wish I'd called twinplumbing first - it would have saved me the expense of a night in a motel.

If I could give negative stars I would. I called and scheduled an appointment on Thanksgiving for a main drain clog knowing they would not be able to come out until the next day. I did not want to pay the holiday charges.

On the phone I told the guy that I have only a roof vent and they would have to go through the that vent as I have to ground level clean out. He says no problem, it will be $99. I say OK!

Guy comes out next morning and tells me there is nothing he can do since I do not have a ground level clean out. WHAT!!!!

I called the manager and he seemed mildly interesting. I told him what I told the operator and asked if he thought that they should have told me they would not be able to help. Manager advised me that they do not say they can not help until they get out because most people do not know what a ground level clean out is. Funny, cause I said ""ground level clean out.""

Would NEVER do business and will definitely put word out not to use them.

Oh, I did get an estimate for installing clean out.... $2350... only $800 more than last estimate from brand name, over priced company....

My advise, call them out and tell them nicely, no thank you... I am getting it done cheaper and faster. That is my plan for my next plumbing problem.

OUTRAGEOUS PRICES. The absolute worst. Cleared drain for $99 then upcharged to place a clean out valve. Required less than 2 hours time, charged over $2,000. Wouldn't ever use again. They are linked with George Brazil plumbing....both overcharge.

Mike Diamond snaked a drain blockage on our property, which backed up AGAIN three weeks later.

When I called to schedule the second appointment, which fell within the 30 guarantee period, they were very slow to respond. A 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. time slot stretched on into the afternoon.

Customer service is not a top priority for this company. Ignore their promises to warranty work. Apparently, for Mike Diamond ""talk is cheap.""

Why follow-up on a guaranteed job when you can collect another fee for a new job?

The worst experience u have ever had. Quoted me a price 3 times what I actually paid. Didn't eve show up or call the day they were suppose to do the work. I lost 2 days of work waiting on them

Called them late yesterday and was told they couldn't get here until between 8am and 1pm today (a HUGE time window for a simple service call). At 1pm I called and asked where they were -- was told that no one would be available for at least another hour. The ""manager"" even inferred that I must not have been told ""between 8 and 1"", but was willing to knock a whole $10 off the bill, IF her operator would admit to telling me that (gee, $10 for a 6+ hour wait -- what a deal). So I called another plumber (PhD Plumbing, Upland), who promptly got here, fixed the problem, and probably charged me a fraction of what ""Mike Diamond"" would have tried to scam me out of.

Mike Diamond? -- NEVER AGAIN!

This company is untruthful!!! I was told that a job would be done at 8:30 in the morning and at 12:30 I was called back to say that part of the job could be done today and the other tomorrow. Their advertisement is Untruthful when you are waiting on the phone and when speaking with subcontractors! I luckily can celled their service and will never get caught in that web of lies. I hope others reconsider working with this group. After reading the reviews I guess I am luck to have not had them here in my home. It seems they are gougers in addition to untruthfulness, I am sorry to know that KFI accepts such people as advertisers.

I emailed these people asking them to stop using your radio ad about the plumber who just served in iraq with the stereotypical latin man's voice. it's offensive and could be deemed false advertisement if they don't actually have any plumbers who just served in iraq. poor judgement. I wouldn't hire these guys ever.
