I needed someone to come unclog a sink on short notice and they were able to come within 2 hours. They called when they were on the way and fixed the sink within 10 minutes. They gave me the $99 special when unclogging the sink, so the price was good also.

First, it's surprising how little continuity of communication there is within the Mike Diamond company. I told the call center that I needed a clogged drain cleared and told the receptionist that I had dumped several different kinds of caustic into the kitchen sink. A dispatcher called back to tell me that a plumber would arrive within 1 hour. I told him about the caustics and he replied that the plumber would not be able to work on the clog for 48 hours. The plumber showed up about 45 minutes later than the by-time the dispatcher gave me.
Next, in his heavily accented English, the plumber started the bait and switch shuffle: $99 to snake the drain (as advertised), $370 to perform a high pressure cleaning warranted for 1 year. Knowing how old the drain pipes are, I opted for the cleaning. I was too tired of the mess to argue about the $460 charge. Apparently, the warranty isn't free but at least I get a free inspection of my new A/C system which will, of course, find necessary service which will be performed with 20% discounted parts. Such a deal.
Anyway, the plumber pulls the clean-out plug (after asking me to sign waivers since it is inside the house) and then mentions that he has to charge me an additional $79 for the repair to his snake which is about to be damaged by the caustics in the line. I refused so he continued.
Afterward, the plumber gave me my warranty and his George Brazil business card. Apparently George has long since passed and Mike bought the company. It doesn't matter which one you call, there is no competitive pricing here.
At least the high pressure scrub appears to have worked. Unfortunately, good friends of mine who run a plumbing business (a little far from me to reasonably ask for help) told me that the high pressure cleaning was a $250 job they would have done for free for me (and they are coming from the OC to Sylmar). Next time, I but them dinner.

I have had them out twice, both times for the same bathroom sink (about 8 months apart). We know we need to replace some piping, but it is cheaper to just clear the line at $99 a pop, then spend $1000 to replace. The second time out, they also dealt with our extra sink in the laundry room, which was backing up from the kitchen. Both jobs done well, and we are back to full functionality. Did offer to replace lines (thousands of dollars), but fixed both sink drains at $99 each to our satisfaction.

I am so upset right now, I signed up on Yelp to post my first review. Here it is.
On February 1st 2014 Thomas came to my house to fix a clogged kitchen sink. He spent more time trying to sell me add ons than working on the sink. Eventually the sink was cleared, I asked him if he knew what clogged it, he said he didn't know and then tried to sell me some stuff for $80 to keep the sink clear, I asked him if he didn't know why the sink clogged in the first place, how does he know this stuff is going to help? No answer.
About two to three weeks later, the kitchen started to drain slowly again and eventually clogged completely again. I called Mike Diamond and explained the situation they said they will contact their manager and call me back. About THREE DAYS LATER someone called me back. By that time I had purchased some baking soda and vinegar and that seemed to do the trick eventually the sink started draining slowly again and now it is clogged again.
Today I called again and explained everything above. The lady I talked to was very nice and said her manager was on lunch (I called around noon) and he will call me back shortly. Given the history of this company calling back, I waited two hours and called them back. I was put on hold for about 3-5 minutes and eventually a ""gentleman"" answered with the greeting of ""Yeah?"" (I got the feeling from his greeting and tone of voice that he gets these kind of calls all day and as a manager he has no customer service skills) I explained everything I stated above his answer was ""Maybe you have a bigger problem, I'm not coming out there for free, and my guy did his job right the first time."" Frankly I would rather have a stinky plumber with an ass crack that does a good job. All I want is my kitchen sink cleared.
This is also a copy of the email I sent to the company. I will post again if I hear from them. (don't hold your breath.).

Wow! Never even got past the scheduler, (Jeannie?). I told her I had a broken kitchen faucet and that my landlord would need to approve the work before doing the work. She told me that the landlord would need to call it in. I tried tell her that I would pay by credit card and I just needed the landlord to approve the price - but she talked over me the whole time. So I asked if she was going to let me talk and she continued to talk over me about fees and how they can't quote a price without seeing it, still not listening to me. It was almost like a windup toy. She couldn't stop in the middle of her canned speech.
I called another plumber and they said they will be here in an hour and the estimate is free.
Lady, if you want to know why I hung up on you, now you know why.
Mike Diamond, you need to teach your employees what ""customer service"" means.

If i could, i would give this company negative stars.
***This company and it's employee (EDGAR) is a crook! STAY AWAY! They'll rob old ladies for every dime and penny they got!***
Our drain got plugged up and decided to call them for their $99 deal. EDGAR showed up and explained the snake wouldn't clear out the blockage with the current flush system outside, and explained i needed a new flush system that he estimated would cost $4,0000+. Worse yet, Edgar explained the flush system will need to be put RIGHT UNDER THE PATIO....SERIOUSLY??
I called up another guy and cleared out the blockage for $120, using the existing flush system without any issues.
Edgar also took some of our new piping under the house when he went to check, CROOKS!

Why can't I give 0 stars? They are way TOO EXPENSIVE!! I used them at a house I am selling in Canoga Park. Called them for a leak in my shower area. They found out I was selling and said I needed an earthquake valve for my gas meter. They said they could do it right now and mine was complicated so it would be $1600. I said ok. Mistake. Meanwhile he had me sign an override for the normal three days you have to cancel the ""contract."" Then he left for a while and when he came back he said he couldn't finish tonight so he would come back on Saturday to do it on his day off. He replaced it on Saturday. The city inspector came a few days later. I was talking to him and found out the part was some $200 and the total cost should be around $450-500. I WAS ROBBED!! The man was pleasant and smelled good, like the ads say. But he is a con-artist at best. Oh, and he charged me $250 for a 15 minute job on the shower that, according to his writeup on the ticket, was likely not the cause of the leak. Wish I could do this one over again.

I was in the middle of installing a new tile floor, the demo crew apparently broke the valve on the bottom of the toilet as now I had a slow leak. Tile was getting installed the next day so I need a quick fix plumber. This company, friendly on phone when I called and punctual to my home, knowing I needed it fixed ASAP wanted $510 to replace a $5 valve. I even got on the phone with ""the boss"" and got it down by $150 by eliminating other ""suggested services"". I felt at the time I had no choice, it was after 3PM and tile guys were coming bright and early the next day.
The kid fixed it in a few minutes but I felt ripped off and there is NO way these guys will be back in my home whether they smell good or not. Please check around first before falling for the $75 service call they mention on the phone.

Do not believe these guys. So I needed a plumer to come out and I remembered the radio ad about the $99 (we will unclog any drain or you don't pay) add on radio and I thought that is a no brainier , I called them they got my info and called the next day before they shoed up and did not smell bad ( so far so good) .my main drain clean out is out side my house and water was coming out of there becouse the main pipe was blocked going towards the street. the plumer got his snake and went into the pipe but would not feed the snake in he would run the motor and when I asked him about it he got very offended and said he know what he was doing. After 1 minute of not trying at all he gave me his bad news and told me he needs to use a water jet with a camera and it will cost $1200,,,, so I asked him to leave , went to hd supply rented a snake and without Exaggerating I had it unplugged in 10 minutes . Not a bad scam if you ask me, they offer to come out for $99 don't fix it and give you a big estimate the $99 is just a gimmick to come and rip you off ,,, do not waste your time call a professional or do it your self if you can. I would not call these conmen ever again.

I would like to say it was great. They are now trying to charge me over $800 to replace a toilet!!! Firstly 6 months ago we had major work done costing over $2000 to replace the bolts and ring that connects toilet to floor and purchased the warranty. Now just shy of 6 months we have a crack running from the bottom to the basin that they are saying is not from the installation. I have done my research and called around and multiple other plumbers say it is from the toilet being too tight! And they only want $150 to replace the toilet if we buy it. The technician from mike diamond is almost demanding that he take the toilet off to look at it which seems to me like a ploy to get it off and pressure us with issues that he would magically find. I don't buy it!!! Be careful!!!! Shop around! I even heard from another plumber that this isn't the frat time he heard that about them. Just sayin
