Mid-Coast Electric Supply Inc., established in 1968, stands as one of the largest and most rapidly expanding electrical distributors in South Texas, boasting 6 locations that cater to a significant area of Texas and Northern Mexico. As a complete electrical distributor, we supply a broad range of electrical equipment to original equipment manufacturers, industrial MRO, factory automation, construction, utility, and government sectors.

Incorporated in Texas in 1968, Mid-Coast Electric Supply, Inc. (MCESI) was founded by Louis Barker and William McKinney. In 1980, Louis Barker took full ownership of MCESI. The corporate headquarters was established in Victoria, Texas, in the same year.

At that point, the total revenue for the company was under $3 million. Throughout the 1980s, the company experienced growth and expansion by increasing its market share in Victoria and opening a satellite location in Bay City, Texas. By 1989, MCESI had increased its total revenue to $5.8 million.

In the 1990s, the company further expanded by opening its Rio Grande Valley location in Harlingen, Texas. At this time, Steve and Tom Barker became full-time employees and part owners of MCESI. In 1999, the company expanded by opening a location in Corpus Christi. At the end of 2000, the company reported total revenue of over $18 million.
