I have used this company twice recently; once for additional power outlets in the garage, and secondly a more simple job of installing two ceiling fans in my living room.
The guys were punctual, professional, went out of their way to leave the site clean and tidy, and were both extremely pleasant wo work with.
Pricing on both occasions was in line with the estimates, and was both fair and reasonable.
We are planning to construct an ADU in our back yard in the next few months, and I will be using this company for all the electrical work.
Highly recommended.

After getting numerous recommendations from family and friends, we decided to have Metcalf Electric replace our electrical panel as it was at capacity and we recently purchased an EV and we wanted to make room in our panel for a level 2 EV charger and electrical appliances in the future. We were not disapponted. Norman and his entire crew were great to work with. Everyone was straightforward, easy to talk to, professional, prompt and delivered everything that was promised, on time, and priced as qouted. We will absolutely use Metcalf in the future, and encourage you to do the same.

The electrical outlet that our dishwasher was on went out. I tried calling a few electricians, left messages and didn't get a call back. One of our neighbors recommended Metcalf Electric. They responded promptly and said that they could come out the next morning. They were there on time and were very considerate (used shoe covers, agreed to wear a mask). They did a good job of fixing the outlet, despite it being a bit more complicated than it should have been. They checked everything at the electrical box to make sure that there weren't any other issues. We would definitely call them again in the future.

We first worked with Metcalf back in 2015 when we first bought our 1962 ranch. They came highly recommended to us and we were not disappointed. Norman was really great to work with. Not only are they reliable, they're also honest. Another company told us we should replace something and Metcalf told us we didn't need to. When it was time to work on our garage, we knew we wanted to work with them again. They did a great job updating the lighting and wiring in our garage. Highly recommend!

I write this unfortunate review to try and warn others in their search for honest and skilled electrical companies. My concerns are based on:
1. Actual poor electrical work
2. Incompetent team and lack of proper oversight
3. Inappropriate interactions with Kurt, team leader
1. Poor electrical work (pictures). My colleague gave rave reviews for Norman (owner), however Kurt was in charge of the work at my house, and perhaps that is where the fault lies. There were a range of mistakes from the larger missed recessed light placement, the unsecured electrical outlet, the destruction of the wall from conduit placement, the open terminal and broken pool light (all in photos). Then there are the smaller mistakes like setting mismatching light colors, however this is a reflection of their attention to detail (photo).
2. Poor interactions with team. The pictures demonstrating the poor work is just half the story. I understand Kurt was the licensed electrician and his workers are not, however they should be properly supervised. On the first day of work, one of the young workers asked me if my air conditioning had been working and alerted me there was an error message on my smart thermostat. I went up to the thermostat, saw the error, and fixed the loose wire, which likely came loose when they were attempting to run wire down the wall (which they failed at). I was a little unsettled by the fact that I, a person not working for an electrical company, had to teach the electrical worker how to fix the thermostat (which they install btw). This lack of problem solving capabilities also likely explains the unnecessary hole they made in the ceiling when attempting to place the recessed light that same day. And that is only one story of many.
3. Inappropriate interactions with Kurt. I understand that we all make mistakes, but it is the way he responded to these mistakes that was troubling. After approaching Kurt regarding my concerns about the unnecessary holes in the wall, the fact that our pool light was not working (despite it working prior to his work), the fact that he did work that was not originally agreed on (he placed recessed lights in an area we did not agree on, he changed out a pool light switch when the only issue was that the breaker on the panel just had to be replaced since it wasn't tripping), he became angry and defensive. This was a red flag for me. He became angrier as I informed him I would like to have another electrician take a look at the work. Another red flag. I emailed the company with my concerns without reply.
At the end of the day, I paid the more than $10,000 worth of work that was poorly completed, and found a different company, Charles Young Electric, to repair the mistakes and finish the work, who I highly recommend. Would recommend staying away from Metcalf Electric at all costs.

This is my second project with Metcalfe electric. I had them install fandeliers along with the braces for extra security and exchange light fixtures in another room. Once again, I was very pleased with their work. These guys are a great group of people, very pleasant, friendly and informative. They have great attitudes and work very well together. Every time they come out I actually enjoy their company because they are very personable. There was a hiccup along the way with the fandelier itself, Not with metcalf, Kirk gave me some great advice on how to easily solve the problem. Jackson did a great job with the install and make sure everything was clean and left as it was. I definitely recommend Metcalf Electric

Really saved me! So thankful for these guys. Seriously hard to find people around who are skilled at a craft in this day & age. They came in, did their job well & with respect. Honest, dependable, & intelligent. Couldn't ask for a better electrical company. I went through 7 other companies before finding them. Seriously can't say enough.

We've had Metcalf Electric come out and install an EV charger. The work crew was on-time, professional, and let us know about a potential rebate. We were so impressed, we had them come out and install a whole-house fan. Once again, on-time and professional. It's great to have a company that is reliable and reasonable.

I hired Metcalf Electric to install a 240V outlet in my garage to charge an electric vehicle. I chose Metcalf since they came back with a very honest and fair estimate to install the outlet compared to two other competitors I had received quotes from. I appreciate an honest company that is not looking to over-bill unknowing consumers for unnecessary services.
Not only did Metcalf provide a fair estimate, but they also conducted the work in a professional and timely manner. Kurt also went above and beyond by helping diagnose an issue with my electric box too which they didn't charge for. I will definitely be using this company in the future if I need any electric work done.

Metcalf Electric is fantastic. I have had this company do a fair amount of electrical work over the years and always got great service at fair prices. Moreover, they are highly ethical and trusted. I say this as this week my mother had a major electrical outage and as I described the problem, Norm the owner, told me this sounded like a Smud responsibility. I called Smud and sure enough it was Smuds responsibility to repair. You don't find anyone more honest and willing to do right by his customers. If I could, Metcalf Electrical gets a MILLION stars in my book.
