I hired Metcalf Electric to install a 240V outlet in my garage to charge an electric vehicle. I chose Metcalf since they came back with a very honest and fair estimate to install the outlet compared to two other competitors I had received quotes from. I appreciate an honest company that is not looking to over-bill unknowing consumers for unnecessary services.

Not only did Metcalf provide a fair estimate, but they also conducted the work in a professional and timely manner. Kurt also went above and beyond by helping diagnose an issue with my electric box too which they didn't charge for. I will definitely be using this company in the future if I need any electric work done.

Metcalf Electric is fantastic. I have had this company do a fair amount of electrical work over the years and always got great service at fair prices. Moreover, they are highly ethical and trusted. I say this as this week my mother had a major electrical outage and as I described the problem, Norm the owner, told me this sounded like a Smud responsibility. I called Smud and sure enough it was Smuds responsibility to repair. You don't find anyone more honest and willing to do right by his customers. If I could, Metcalf Electrical gets a MILLION stars in my book.

Good electrical work can be expensive, so ask for a cost estimate in advance, and make sure you hire professionals - like Metcalf. We are so glad we got our lights fixed!

Metcalf reworded my kitchen to perfect, there were zero issues when it came to inspection. They really know what they are doing with these old homes also. If you have knob and tube, not only can they repair or, they can certify your home. For insurance purposes.
I am always happy with their work, and the employees are good people. They are always the same guys, telling me that isn't is good to work for Norman.

Our electrician Nick arrived on time and was very personable. We wanted our 1916 house looked at since we had never had a proper electrical inspection in the three years we have owned it. After a few small repairs he informed us that there were no anomalies and our house was up to code. It was very reassuring to learn that according to our current electrical needs, no major upgrades were needed at this time. Metcalf Electric was very professional and honest, we will surely use them again.

I haven't written a review in a long time, but today I had to break my silence to let everyone know how awesome this experience was.

I was changing out an outlet in my garage when I tripped the breaker. after some initial investigation I realized that who ever wired my garage made it really confusing to troubleshoot. I've done some basic electrical before and honestly this is the first time I was like WTF and I don't mean Wed, Thu, Fri.

It's always a pain to fix someone else's sloppy mess. At some point you gotta call it quits and ask for help which I did after two hours.

I left a contact message on their website on Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised when Norm called me on Sunday. He worked with me over the phone to do some light troubleshooting and then came out to my house. He confirmed my frustration with how messed up the wiring was and basically wired 3 single gang outlets a porcelain light and 2 light switches because the easiest way to fix it was to rip out the existing mess and do it right. The whole time he communicated with me what he was doing.

As a homeowner that's top notch customer service. The whole time I felt like he was a good friend trying to help me opposed to a contractor trying to add line items to my bill.

I also had some issues with all the lights flickering in my house and he recommend that I start by calling smud and get the weather head checked. I did that the next day. Smud came out and fixed it for free and the flickering was gone.

I can't tell you how grateful I am that I met this guy. He's got a lot of integrity and was constantly trying to save me money and gave me good solid advice. When it came to cost he was honest about approximately how much it would cost and told me up front that it was just an estimate. When it came down to paying him it was only a few dollars off the original price because the scope of work changed.

I would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks Norm!

I highly highly recommend this company for any electrical needs that you have. They are very professional and very friendly and very easy to deal with. They show up on time and are very respectful of you and your home. They have been at my home two or three different occasions doing different electrical work and every time they have been above and beyond what you would expect. I highly recommend this place and in this this day and age when customer service is hard to find they are the opposite. They have excellent customer service.
