I live in the Bay Area and own a cabin in South Lake Tahoe. Since COVID happened, there is a huge shortage of people willing to do work in the area and most companies are only working on emergencies.

Recently, there have been issues with the furnace which led to use of space heaters. Those draw a lot of power which led to circuit breakers being tripped and broken. Or so we thought.

I called the owner, Matt, around 6:30 on a Tuesday evening and was surprised he answered. I walked him through the problem and Matt proceeded to tell me he was booked for the next two months. I asked if he could recommend anyone that may have some availability and he suggested I look at a few of the larger companies because they may have more technicians than smaller shops. Right after I hung up, the phone rang and it was Matt saying he could stop by since our place is near where he was at that time.

I had three different people staying at our cabin turn the breaker off and on, but Matt was able to get it to work. He called me to let me know the fix was very easy and he was in and out in a short time.

Matt was very polite, helpful, and professional and didn't have to make this special trip to our cabin this night. If he hadn't, I could have been waiting quite some time to have this fixed.

Thank you for doing this nice deed especially when you didn't have to - you definitely made my Holiday. I'd highly recommend using McMahon Electric and will recommend him to all my neighbors in Tahoe Tyrol!

Matt is terrific. We have used him several times and he is super reliable, friendly, and goes out of his way to make sure the job is done right. We had him add some lights in our bedroom and he found that the wiring of one of the other lights in our bedroom closet was a fire hazard and fixed it for free. He also waited to leave town until he finished a different repair for us around the holiday weekend. Highly recommended!

Matt is one of the best contractors...not just electricians, that I have every worked with. He did the electrical on a major house remodel in SLT and suggested some changes to the lighting pattern that turned out to be critical. We love the way the lighting he installed allows great flexibility of lighting the great room. He also is meticulous about his work and I've never seen such an organized electrical box and wire runs. When the cable guy came out to install our service he even commented on how well the wiring was done...which was rare, he said. Finally, Matt is a really good guy...kind, professional, knowledgeable, and reliable....I can recommend him without reservation!

Matt did a great job! I had a power surge in my area and it fried half of my master breaker box by the meter. I had only half power to the inside of my house with some outlets working and half not. Everyone that I called said they could not come out for 2 weeks! The circuit with my refrigerator was down! I told him over the phone I had 2 kids and I really needed my refrigerator. He came and he switched things around so I had power to the fridge until the replacement part arrived. Matt helped my family when we needed help. I cannot thank him enough!

Matt did an excellent job rewiring my house in Tahoe. Not only from a technical perspective but also aesthetically as everything was lined up correctly and straight and level. His price was competitive and he had great ideas on how to do things. Highly recommend him.

Matt did it all and was easy to work with. We have a home dating back to the sixties. Matt rewired two bedrooms that needed grounded receptacles. He installed three new ceiling lights, three ceiling fans, and new switches for all. He replaced all our kitchen lighting and added two new cabinet lights that open up some dark corners. He replaced two outdoor outlets and rewired an old shed.

Had water in my electrical panel. My plumber was at my house when he noticed it. He called McMahon Electric and Ron came down right away and explained to me where the water was coming in and what needed to be done. He was awesome. He put in a new electrical panel, fixed the wiring outside all in one day. I give him 5 stars and would recommend him anyone.

Matt is a very professional electrician and an equally very nice person. I was doing a Master Bath remodel and service panel upgrade. I got a SLT city permit for the work and the inspector approved everything the first time around. It you want a local SLT electrician he is your man.

Called Matt for a new main panel instal. Our house was recently purchased by us and had the original main from 1961. He has great reviews on yelp and was very impressed with his response time and professionalism. He informed us that he had a backlog of work and it would be at least six weeks till he could start. I don't mind waiting for the right person. I find that that shows quality. Did a great job and even the city and power company had nothing but good things to say about Matt. Will definitely use him again if the need arises.
