Jim Mayo, Eric and his team installed a brand new electrical panel, a Tesla electrical wall charger, an electrical line for new AC and a new outdoor light. Jim came out to our house and did a thorough review of our needs and provide a free quote. The quote was $500 less than the ""Tesla recommended"" company in the Bay Area. Everything was installed correctly, with permits. I communicated with Jim and his team by phone and text throughout the process and their replies were prompt. The lead guy on the job was Juan Luis and he made sure everything was done correctly. The process did take more than a week due to the permit requirements. We were also planning on installing AC after the panel went in. When it looked like the AC electrical line would not be finished by the date the AC was scheduled to be installed, Jim was able to arrange for the work to be done to accommodate the AC installation, which we really appreciated. While they were checking their work we discovered a couple of our plugs were not grounded, so we had them do that work as well. After installing the electrical panel, they even labeled the circuit breakers which was also appreciated. The first time we used the car charger it indicated a problem. We called Jim and he came right out to look at it and then fixed a loose wire. The team was very respectful as they came in and out of the house as they worked, and cleaned up all their work nicely. We are very pleased with the work and highly recommend Mayo Electric!

We had these people do our electric work for our remodeling. Have to say their wiring works are horrible and messy. Some quipments as in light switch stopped working within weeks and other slowly failed within months. They choose the cheapest supplies possible. We had another issue with the outlet not working. Jim came out to temporary fix it and was informed that he will be back next week to fix it corectly . He never ever show up or call, disappeared.
Keep searching for better service and better work elsewhere because Quality doesnt go with Mayo company.

I'm very happy with Mayo Electric! I had a broken light fixture in my business, and they were quick to come out and fix it. The bill was $145 for about an hour work and parts.

Prior to this, I had tried many other electricians. Several never responded to multiple online requests and calls. One didn't want to do the work because he thought it required going above the ceiling (which wasn't true). Another wanted $161 just for an estimate!

I get that there is a shortage of electricians in the Bay Area, so they can ignore and overcharge clients, but I greatly appreciate that Mayo was responsive and fixed the problem for a reasonable price. I will definitely use them again.

These people are unbelievable! Stood me up TWICE. Christelle was belligerent, telling me what I was saying wasn't true about Jim coming out here for the first appointment, but I had spoken to his wife and that is what she told me.. No calls, just hours late, I am sick of this. They may do good work, as others have said, but they are NUTS and have the worst customer service ever. Tell me why Christelle offered to make it right after no-show the first time, scheduling another appointment for today between 8 and 9am.....and it's 10:30 and STILL NOBODY. No return calls, nothing. I emailed too, still nothing. This makes no sense. Steer clear. Customer service is VERY IMPORTANT these days.

We were very pleased with the attention by everyone, including the owner Jim, manager Christelle and two technicians Jose and (yikes I apologize, I don't recall the other technician's name). Everyone was responsive, prompt, insightful, professional, detail-oriented, good humored, and careful. The cost was competitive.

Jason has been here the last two times and diagnosed and repaired a faulty switch and light. These guys are great. We were introduced to them by our general contractor when we were putting an addition onto our house. They did all of the new wiring in the addition, upgraded the electrical box, AND reconfigured some very sub-par wiring that had been done in the original part of the house by a previous home owner. They worked well with the general and all of the other subcontractors and provided quality work.

We have since hired them directly for additional projects with in the house including running a new dedicated circuit for appliances, wiring and installing numerous light fixtures and outlets and moving some existing wiring. Their prices are reasonable and the electricians are always on time, work efficiently, were flexible when we made changes to the work order and always explained what they were doing and why. Nice, trustworthy guys. I felt comfortable having them in my home when I was and wasn't there. Will absolutely hire them again in the future should we have the need!

I will start off by saying that I work with James the first time in years ago. He was awesome! For the next two jobs he sent other people, but the work was always completed well and the prices were fair. Jobs were done quickly.
Now, it seems things have changed quite a bit over the past years. Over the course of a couple weeks I called the office and left voicemails - no response. Finally, I tried an email address I found online. Finally, I got a response from one of his staff members. I guess things are very busy for electricians right now as I was not able to get an appointment for about a week and a half. On the day of the appointment, I ended up starting a text thread with the staff because they had told me they were coming several hours early. It turned out that was an error, but within that text I gave them my address. Cue several hours later, when they were actually supposed to come, and I found later that I had a text saying they were not going to be there unless I called within the next 30 minutes and gave them my address ( I cannot use my phone at work) I replied later that they had my address within the texts - they never replied. Called the office- no reply. You probably guessed at this point that I never got any service that day. Later I followed up with a email stating I would no longer require their services.
As you would will imagine, I kinda had it with the company at that point. I found a different electrician with good ratings on yelp and scheduled an appointment with him. While I expected a wait for his services as well, I was happily surprised when he called and said he had had a cancellation and came the next day. He was friendly, competent and gave me a fair price.
James, I hope you read this. I was using you when it was just you answering your cell phone and organizing everything yourself. I believe you to be a good person and I am very happy for your success, but I would suggest that perhaps customers are not valued as highly as they may have been in the past. Now I will need to find a different company to do the electrical box upgrade that I needed done next.
