Carlos just came out to fix a broken light switch -- an easy thing (I know now), but no one wants me touching anything electrical. He showed up on time, was courteous & professional, and gave me a 'this is ridiculously easy' discount. He quickly fixed my light switch and took a look at some other issues that were bothering me.

He came to our offices and made a detailed assessment, and then came back, right at the time we'd scheduled, to install new fluorescent fixtures. We have a fairly old building, and the installation was not a simple task. I have had Carlos complete work for me twice. The first time he installed a new cable track light with surface mounted transformer, installed recessed lighting in my bedroom and installed a new outlet in my closet. This last time I had Carlos install a new hanging light fixture in my kitchen. Carlos did a wonderful job both times! He left my place cleaner than when he arrived. His work was exceptional! Also, for both jobs I compared his rates to other electricians referred to me by friends and Carlos' rates were comparable or lower. On Sept 1, 2009, our tenants plugged in a defective lamp and shorted out the electiricity through much of the house. We checked the circuit breaker and could not solve the problem. We called Mayan Electric and Carlos gave us instructions on how to solve the problem by checking various circuit breakers, thus to possibly avoid the need for a service call. We followed his intructions but were unable to solve the problem. So we arranged for an appointment and Carlos arrived on time. Carlos searched the 3-story house and located a long hidden fuse box in one of the closets. He fixed the problem immediately and charged us only for the service call. We are very happy with him.

I was really impressed. This guy is a real pro. He did a great job of adding an outlet to my kitchen. Clean work and good wall patching. Best of all, he came when he said he would. He did what he said he'd do, and his work was top rate. Carols is a real find.

Carlos was able to respond immediately to diagnose a very perplexing wiring problem in my apartment building which was resulting in a blown fuse every time you plugged in a television set. He is patient, helpful, and persistent even in the face of a very strange and difficult to track down issue.

I was very impressed by his positive attitude and desire to keep going until we found the solution - which we did, and he charged a very fair price for his time.

I will definitely call Carlos when I have electrical issues, and I am confident he'd do a great job on a remodeling project or other more major work.
