We hired Carlos to fix a light that wouldn't work in our rental unit. He came out when he said he would, was able to figure out the problem quickly, and fixed the problem the same day. His price was very reasonable and our tenant was happy with the repair. We would definitely use Carlos again.

Carlos is the perfect example of the kind of dream craftsman that you always hope to get when searching for a professional.

We had him take a look at one of the fixtures that flickered in our 1911 craftsman. After a few tests Carlos had determined the fixture was the problem and he said he could repair it.

The next day Carlos phoned and let me know the fixture was repaired and wanted to know if we had purchased the supplies for the other work we wanted done or if he should get those things for us in the morning on his way over.

Finally on the 2nd day he returned and reinstalled the fixture which is now working perfectly. We took a look at the other work we wanted done but Carlos had some suggestions that didn't involve doing any work or cost whatsoever. He also offered to take a look at our breaker box and the main wiring in our garage.

I highly recommend Carlos and Mayan Electric. Carlos always arrived exactly on time, was extremely friendly and an excellent communicator.

The 3 things I base my on review are:

-- Craftsmanship - Carlos obviously loves his job and takes pride in his work.
-- Communication - A call on the next day verifying plans and letting me know the work was completed successfully.
-- Time & Price - Carlos was always on time and the price to work ratio was accurate.

Thanks to all of you who wrote reviews on Yelp, I found Carlos--and he is simply the BEST. He came by the day after I called him. He was on time. He knows what he'd doing. And he's fair and reasonable on pricing. When he came over to do the work (install a very heavy and valuable chandelier), he again arrived on time and he and his assistant did a fantastic job installing the chandelier. And, Carlos even came back a few days later to smooth out the ceiling so we could be ready to paint. I can't recommend him more highly.

Read the reviews. Hey Mayan must be great. Called on Friday. We will call you back about an appointment on Saturday. No call. I finally call....and then schedule an appt for Saturday at 4:00pm. I emphasize, just call if you are running late. It is now 5:15pm and I call Carlos and he is uh....""what can I say"".

Let me fill in the blank. You can say ""sorry. I will come over right now. Fix it for free.""

Bad Service. Bad Service. Bad Service. Don't use Mayan unless you want to be disappointed.

i belong to a TIC owned victorian in Haight Ashbury that was hopelessly out of date with electrical voltage. Carlos at Mayan gave us a great price, communicated well, and was able to trouble-shoot on issues we homeowners would never have understood. He is famiiar with PGE processes and willingly intervened with them. Our upgrade is nearly complete and we are very happy.

Hire Carlos; he is a fair, able, and pleasant contractor who will not disappoint you.

Carlos came by and I thought he would replace the lighting fixtures right away, but he came back the following week to complete the job. All in all, he did a great job. I would use him again.

Carlos installed an extra cable jack in my living room and he did a fantastic job. I had gotten two other quotes for the work. Both other service providers 1) charged more, and 2) weren't going to patch the holes they made in the drywall (so i would have to get a second guy out to patch the holes).

Carlos did everything - installed the jack and patched the holes. His pricing was reasonable, he worked efficiently, and he showed up on time. He's a nice and personable guy, and he got the job done right. If I need more electrical work done, he will be my first call.

I called Carlos for a quote on upgrades to my GFs place. Carlos responded promptly and came to take a look. I found him to be open and very informative about the work needed. He made a couple of money saving suggestions. A reasonable quote arrived and Carlos did the work with a helper. We are very pleased with the job. It was neat and Carlos does his job in a friendly, professional manner. I recommend him unreservedly.

What a wonderful experience!

Carlos was fantastic!!! I was running late to my appointment and phoned Carlos to give him a heads up. He was very sweet and assured me he would be there waiting. When I arrived, he was nothing but energetic and eager to help. My electric stove wasn't working. He fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes. I would call him again in a heart beat!

Refused to take on a job based on a phone conversation. If you live in a rental & have deferred maintenance or an issue that another electrician has bungled, 1) don't call this guy, and 2) don't tell him about it if you do. Wasted my time talking to him, he wouldn't even come out to look at the problem to see if it was something he could handle.
