I called Maverick Electric Heating and Air after losing power in 2 rooms in my house. They set up an appt. for someone to come out the next day to find the problem. The gentleman who came explained what happened, why it happened, what needed to be done... and told me he had everything with him to do the job that day! He was friendly, expedient, kept me apprised of what he was doing, we had gone over the cost, what that covered and I was so pleased. He showed me the old box, then I went outside so he could explain the new box, assured me it was definitely needed, I agreed after he showed me the old, damaged box and explained what could have happened... he exceeded my expectations and I will know who to call in the future... thank you, MAVERICK ELECTRIC HEATING AND AIR!!!

Called with an emergency issue and they put me on the schedule for the next day from 8-12. Called early and they said I was the first job. Then the rep said the tech took another job. They called me back and the tech tires blew. Bad stories and communication

**Update**:
I called Maverick on Aug 09 to register my complaint and ask for a refund of the overcharge. Lauren took the message and said they would look into it and get back to me Monday Aug 12th.
Never heard back soI called back on the Aug 20th. Was told by CPA they would offer $99 refund for the diagnostic charge. I asked to speak with a manager. Haley was the manager they referred me to.
I explained again how
1)their price was 3 times the industry standard to replace a capacitor.
2) I was told this would fix the problem. Nick didn't even go into my attic to take a look at other parts of the system until after he charged me $655. I have pictures of the frozen coils which did not occur within a few minutes of a capacitor going out obviously. Nick also told me that the TXV would've been the cause of the capacitor going out. If he knew this why wouldn't he have been up in the attic taking a look at that TXV before he charged me the $655 telling me that it would fix the problem.
This manager checked with Nick's manager and they came back with the same $99 offer. I asked Haley are you comfortable with the fact that your company charges three times the amount that everyone else does industry standard according to the research I did (which was calling other companies in addition to locating credible sources like Forbes and other places where they give ranges of cost for various services)? The company I ended up hiring to actually fix my air conditioner would have charged $165 parts and labor for the same capacitor . Haley said she was comfortable with their prices being what they were. I also asked if she was comfortable with the idea that they don't do through checking before they charge someone a price for something that may or may not fix it. She said yes, that is our practice .
When I told her that $99 was not enough of a refund and that I would be reporting to the BBB and updating my reviews with everything she told me. Then she withdrew the $99 refund offer and said we don't offer anything to someone who's blackmailing us. I told her I was going to update my review and register a complaint with the BBB and reiterate what she stated that they are comfortable with the practices and their pricing.
Since when did repeating in a review what a company tells you and what they do and that they are comfortable with those become blackmail ?
If you are comfortable, then I guess you are fine with others knowing, unless you actually know what you are doing isn't good, and now you are calling me a blackmailer for simply stating your truth. Wow.
Original review:
My A/C wasn't working. Nicholas came out and diagnosed the problem as the Capacitor, it needed replacement for $655. I agreed to have him replace. After replacement he then did more diagnostics and said the TVX Valve caused the capacitor to go bad and it also needed replacement at a quote of an additional $3500+. I was not happy. He couldn't do the work anyway. When I looked online at what the average cost to replace both, at least 3 x the cost of the highest of averages. Called a new company today, they quoted $165 labor and parts to replace Capacitor. They are coming tomorrow to re-diagnose the system. I'm a disabled senior and feel totally taken advantage of. Who gives a quote to fix, installs new part, then after tells you that another part needs replacing or else it will make the new part go bad?? To a total cost of about $4300? This is how a shyster does business. I have tried calling to talk with someone and complain. Haven't received call back even though my number was in the cue.

Maverick Is A Very Reliable Company With FIVE-STAR Service!

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Maverick Electric, Heating and Air.

Last Friday we had electrical issues. After we did some research for local electrical companies, we decided to call Maverick for a same-day service. Veronica answered our call, she was very friendly and quickly determined what they needed to do and scheduled one of their technicians to come to our house that day as early as possible.

In the next few hours, their office's very nice ladies, Jordan and Lauren followed up to keep us updated of the electrician's arrival time...

The electrician, Nate Alexander arrived in the afternoon. He was clean, neat, professional and courteous. He checked our electrical panel, many outlets and other spots we asked him to take a look, and quickly found out the root of our electrical problems. He explained the main reason of our electricity problems and wrote a detailed replacement quotation for our consideration.

The entire service Nate provided was professional, exceptional and completed. We really appreciate his service and all the nice ladies work in the office.

Thank you so much, Maverick and all of the people who helped us, Nate, Veronica, Jodan and Lauren! We would like to rate you Five Stars!

I Reached out to Maverick during 4th of July weekend. I asked for a service tech to look at my HVAC. The unit had stopped blowing cold air and it was 110 degrees out. Maverick did not send an HVAC tech they sent a salesman. The salesman decided to hook up his gauges to my HVAC system and explain to me how the refrigerant system had a leak and the only thing I could do was replace the inside and outside coils or the entire system. I did not tell the salesman that I was a senior superintendent and have been in construction management for over 20 years and I new he was lying to me. He quoted me $15,000 to replace the system, which I would say is a fair price. I explained to him at that point, that I have friends in the industry and I would be getting a second opinion. A few days later a start up tech from a commercial HVAC company that i work with all the time came to the house. Within 10 minutes he replaced my fan motor capacitor and the system was up and running. The part was $12 dollars at Ace hardware. He asked for $120, I paid him $200. I called Maverick to explained what had happened an ultimately just wanted an honest company that I could reach out to next time I had trouble. They just sent me to voice mail and never returned my call. The real problem was the family that lives in the house were suffering when the system could have easily been fixed the day the salesman showed up. I Have never in my life written a review. I felt betrayed by Maverick.

I've had a wonderful experience so far with Maverick. We had them come tune up our AC and they did a thorough check on everything. We signed up for the membership plan, and they sent out an electrical technician as part of the plan. They have a 3hr window time for arrival and both times they have arrived on time. Our electrician Christopher H. is amazing. He inspected all the electrical components of the house. Taking in mind a few of my initial concerns. He thoroughly explained all that he did, gave me some pointers in certain things. He also addressed all my concerns. I have a child with Autism and he went above and beyond. He was kind and very understanding to her and specially when she had a few small behaviors. I am very happy with this company. I would also like to add that they leave you with a report on all they did and summarize all they at the end. They were very quick to scheduling for the first time and also when I had to reschedule. So far I am very happy, Thanks! As for the pricing we pay $20 for the membership and we are happy with this pricing. I'm not positive on all the features we get with the membership. We have received an AC tune up and electrical inspection so far for only two monthly payments. I will have to find out what else we get this.

They started out great. It was like 6 PM on a Friday and a heat wave. They came out to do an AC tuneup but my air conditioner was completely dead. They didn't pressure me to buy a fancy air conditioner though I did have to replace mine 15,000 bucks. Ever since they've gotten paid, they will not return my calls.

It has failed it city inspection and despite me calling them six times and writing them they will not come out to fix the issue. I'm looking into a small claims clear or what I can do. I don't have any idea since they absolutely won't call me. Save yourself a headache they start out good but it's awful when You need them after you've paid them

Went to their website and provided my name and number as they ask and what I was needing from them as far as electrical help. Never heard from them so I called them thinking there may be a problem with their system. Nope! I guess they have all the business they need. Anyway, I have them the benefit of the doubt and after finding my request we set up an appointment and guess what? Yep, they never showed up! Be careful!
