Maus Electric is an exemplary company that will exceed your expectations in every way. They did a major overhaul of my home with a stronger service panel, updated lighting, bathroom fans, dimmers/timers/USB ports and lighted address numbers. You name it ~ they did it properly the first time with the highest quality of materials. They guarantee everything! Their service (including Laurie at the helm in the office) is indicative of their experience, knowledge and ""people skills"". Rodney and his son Ryan listened attentively to my requests and advised me accordingly. I can't tell you how picky I am (most often disgruntled by today's work ethics & standards) but I highly recommend this great team of electricians. I'd give them another 5 stars if it were possible. They will not disappoint!!!

I recently moved into a new home and panicked when the power went out one evening. I quickly deduced that no one else on the street had lost power so this was an issue specific to our home. I called Maus Electric and Laurie was incredibly responsive and helpful. Within 25 minutes, Rod and Laurie arrived to help us out. Rod was skilled and professional as he replaced the circuit breakers and showed and explained to me exactly what the issues were and how he would perform the repairs. I really appreciated how he patiently took the time to share these details -- it is rare that anyone explains anything these days! Within a couple of hours, we had new breakers and the power was restored. Great family business and I absolutely will call them again for any other electrical issues.

The coordination of the job was strong. They worked to fit us into their schedule and find earlier times as they had space open up. Their technicians really care about how to do the job right, and worked hard to find solutions around tough situations. I had a subpanel replaced, several outlets put in, a stove and dishwasher wired up and various smaller jobs - excellent service. I will use them again.

We bought all new kitchen appliances and the installation went well with everything, except the stove. Unfortunately our old stove was so old, the voltage was too low for the new one. Sadly for me this was just a few days before Christmas, and I was hosting dinner. I called four electricians (who had no availability in such short notice) before I was recommended to try Maus Electric. I called on Thursday, and Christmas we the following Wednesday. Even with their busy schedule they were able to squeeze me in before the holiday! The electrician (I believe it was Rod) was very nice and did a wonderful job in a timely manner. I'll be using this company for any electrical need in the future.
Local, friendly, clean and timely!

A large tree went down in the big storm in January and took out the electricity, and phone and cable, from the telephone pole to the house. We called PG&E and then had to wait for them to hook us back up. Two days later, on a Friday morning someone came out and told us the Head Pipe and wiring at the house was damaged and we needed a professional electrician to repair it before PG&E could reconnect. This was a moment of panic, but fortunately our neighbor referred us Rod, he came out gave us an estimate and we said go ahead. It turns out the damage was much more than my untrained eye could see, and we needed a permit and inspection and all sorts of stuff.
He and his son came out and started to work. His wife went to Santa Rosa for the permits and stickers and by late afternoon they had it all put back together. The best part was that Rod had contacts with the PG&E field crews and he called them and got them over to hook up the electricity. It was a simple job for them, only a half hour. But if we had to wait for the PG&E process it might have been many days more.
I can't say enough for the professionalism of Rod and Maus Electric. They did what they said they would do, did it professionally and quickly and got us through what could have been a very long and frustrating process.
THANKS!!!

Maus Electric is flawless. Professional, polite and on time. Rod & Ryan have been doing work for our shop for several years and they never disappoint.

Everything these days require a permit. As a homeowner I hate it. Needless money out of my pocket and into the city's. Anyhow I digress.
I knew my Zinsko panel needed replacement for about 2 years. Bandaids were no longer cutting it so finally bit the bullet. Maus was a referral to me, which was super fantastic since I already dealt with 2 different electricians that showed up when they felt like it. Thank goodness Rod and Laurie are actually on a human schedule. I called, they answered. We emailed each other throughout and they were super prompt. I was impressed.
They got all the paperwork, the PG&E schedule, permits and all that jazz out of the way. We scheduled an appt. for Ron and his son to come out. And Whoa - they were actually a few min early!! They walked me though everything, answered all my questions (lets face it I know NOTHING about electrical stuff).
The next time they came out was to do circuit tracing (? Learned what that was lol) my old box was a dinosaur. It was the original box. That all went well.
A couple days later they came by to replace (I also upgraded the 100 to a 125) my box. I wasn't home because the power needed to be cut which means no internet connection and no working from home. Throughout the day Laurie would email me status updates. How nice is that!!??!!
So now its done. I am so happy! Being the procrastinator I am, I am super thankful I picked this company to do my work. I got the bill today and even better - NO surprises!
Bottom-line, if you need electrical work done, look these guys up. I for one, am one happy customer.

When I bought my house in Petaluma in 1996, I needed some electrical work done so I asked my realtor if he knew of a good electrician and he recommended Rod Maus. Rod was really great - he explained what needed to be done and took care of all aspects of the job including getting any permit needed and having the work inspected after he did it. The house had a fuse box and fuses kept blowing so he put in a circuit breaker to replace it. He also put a new outlet in the garage and two lights in the garage ceiling. I was in the process of having a new roof put on while Rod was doing the electrical work and he told me that as long as the roof was off he would go up and take a look at the wiring in the attic to make sure it was in good shape. I was very happy that he took the extra time to check out the wiring up there and felt very reassured when he told me it was fine. I was extremely pleased with the work he did and was happy that he was such a nice person as well.
Fast forward to 2011:
When we needed more electrical work done this month I was very glad to find that Rod was still working in Petaluma. Laurie Maus set up an appointment for them to come by on a Saturday to discuss the job and give us a quote. They were very accomodating as far as our schedule and got the job done in less time than they had estimated. Rod and his son, who is also now in the business, did a great job and left the place clean too.
I fully intend to hire them any time we need electrical work done and highly recommend them to anyone needing an electrician.

Rodney Maus just left my house after finding a troublesome connection that caused the power in the livingroom to go out. I dreaded having to wait for a weekday to get this attended do, as I cannot afford to be without power for long. I was very pleasantly surprised when his wife answered the phone at 8:00 today (Saturday!) and said her husband would come by in the afternoon after another job. Most electricians do not even bother to return calls to ordinary residences, but Mrs. Maus called around 4 to say her husband would be by in half an hour. And it was even sooner than that. Rodney was very persistent in tracking down the problem, locating it to a loose wire in an upstairs bedroom socket. He also tightened all the connections in the breaker box and replaced a faulty breaker. For all this work he billed $98.24, and we could not resist tipping -- I had feared a bill in the hundreds, but he charges $95 an hour and works fast too. This is not work you want to do yourself, so trust yourself to a professional. Rodney comes from a long line of local electricians, and even his son is in the business. I was extremely pleased with the excellent service and peace of mind, and can recommend Maus Electric wholeheartedly.

I purchased an old home in Petaluma last year and it needed extensive electrical work. Maus Electric did it all for me and did EXCELLENT work on each project.
