BEWARE GENERAC. THEIR WARRANTY ISN'T WORTH THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON. Matters Electric Installed my generator.
My generator has not worked since day one of me buying it and having it installed by a ""Generac authorized dealer."" I bought it in July 2018. It keeps power surging and stalling out and then won't start at all. They came out after the last hurricane, when the generator failed to work and we were out of power for 2 weeks. The guy they sent out to look at it, spent 15 minutes here, looked at it and said he couldn't find anything wrong. Last night June 25th 2019 we lost power for 4 hours and again it would not work properly. The engine kept acting like it was going to stall out and then would rev up, causing the lights to actually go out and the power to the house to go out then to come back on. This happened repeatedly. NOW GENERAC is sending the same service guy out here they sent out last time, but I have to pay for it. I was told to expect to have to pay up $300 for this visit. GENERAC trying to wear me down and they aren't honoring the ""10 Year Warranty"" they sold me. My 10 year warranty I have isn't worth the paper it is written on. The person I talked to is Michele. 1-888-436-3722 Extension. 5645 This is a Horrible company that does not honor their warranties or back up the product they sell you. It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't old and didn't need to make sure we had electricity for our medications. My sister has dementia and trying to change a dirty pull up with cold water is difficult. I don't know what we are going to do during the next power outage, if it is for an extended period of time. I explained this to Michele but it has not made a difference that we are on a fixed income and spent the last money we had saved for this generator.
