I called around a few electricians on Yelp needing a specialty job requested by my HVAC vendor. It seemed like a lot of the electricians were not as knowledgeable about this specific thing, which admittedly was imo a unique job, but with an initial call, Mario at Mata definitely put me at ease with his clear knowledge and understanding of what I was asking for. After ordering the parts needed, he took care of the job and did it at a reasonable price. I highly recommend!

Great experience, great price, great fix.
Had a circuit that blew out on my box.
I tried fixing it but could not.
He came over the same day, immediately identified the problem, fixed it in 5 mins & said I could pay him what I wanted lol. This is after getting others responding & saying its a minimum of $300 to visit, possibly because I have a La Costa address. I overpaid him because he was wonderful & it was my choice. Highly recommend & he is now the go to guy in my phone.

As some of the other reviews mentioned, his rate is insanely high. Most other electricians I later called were shocked he would try to charge 2 hours of work at one of the highest rates they've heard of ($150) for a simple fix that they said takes 15 minutes. Pretty shocking and disheartening. Please do not believe all the 5 star Yelp reviews on here for this company like I did. There are plenty of honest, and reasonably priced electricians out there. Don't waste your time & money with this guy.

Had a really good experience with Mata. We bought a half dozen smart light dimmers to install around the house, and his quote was significantly better than other electricians I called. Not only did he do the work that I originally requested, but we had him do a couple extra dimmers while he was here. Great value and very happy with the results!

This electrician ""Mario"" is exceptional. He performed a short notice GFCI socket install to code, cleaned up, was super nice and very professional. I will call Mario for all my electrical needs going forward. I gave him a $15 tip above the agreed upon price because he made this whole process so easy!

I have had Mario do a few projects for me over the past year, and in both instances I have been extremely impressed by his responsiveness, professionalism, attention to detail, respect for my property, and trustworthiness. I really can't say enough about how pleased I am with the work he and his team have done, as well as the piece of mind in knowing that the project was done the right way and up to code. Nothing but good words for Mata Electic (Mario). He showed up when he promised to come; he quickly fixed a major issue with our electrical panel (main breaker was literally melting and sparking) and found the necessary part the same afternoon. While OTHER electricians may charge you a special 'emergency rate' of $400+/hr for urgent problems, Mario did NOT and had a very reasonable price. He also installed EV charger, again for very reasonable price and he did an excellent job. Would certainly consider Mata Electric for any future projects again.
