David saved our Thanksgiving! He fit us in mid-afternoon before Thanksgiving Day and got everything squared away so that we were able to use the oven. He is professional and thorough, and I highly recommend him.

David was fantastic in response, came at 5:45 to look at problem.
Had his top guy Horatio come out next day and trouble shoot...and fix and recommend most cost efficient.

Answered immediately, came within 2 hours after finishing that day's job, and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. What more do you want in an electrician?!? Saved a refrigerator full of food!

I cannot express how amazing David Massay has been since we become homeowners!

We had a lot of trouble finding a reasonable quote for installing a new chandelier. Massay came out, took out the old fixture, installed the new (very cumbersome) one, and spackled the hole to better fit our new fixture. All we had to do was to repaint a bit, and we were set!

Just last week, we gave Massay another call due to our sump pumps going out of service. The rain started, but our sump pumps didn't, and before getting them replaced, we wanted to be sure there wasn't an issue with the electrical. After two trips and a thorough investigation, it turned out that the issue wasn't electrical after all, since the old pumps were shorting the fuse. Since no solution was found, this was all done at no charge.

We're definitely calling him up next time we're in a jam!

[UPDATE]: After posting the initial review, got a quote through email as well as a phone call and text. Got a very reasonable price and was able to schedule the job within a few days. Horatio was excellent and finished the work in a timely manner. They made good on the project within reasonable cost, which brings the review back up to 4 stars.

After all of the great reviews, was disappointed by the service response I received.

I had two projects to scope out, and first, it took a couple of days to get a hold of him and coordinate a time for him to come over to scope out an estimate. He doesn't respond to texts, but is more responsive to voicemail, or better yet if you catch him live on the phone.

When the home visit occurred, he was on time. Upon entering, I politely requested that he take his shoes off (it's a carpeted home), and he paused and gave me a funny look. Later, he revealed that he would like for his workers to wear shoes while going up ladders for their safety. No problem, I said. This, however, was a counter to ""customer first"" thinking. If I were a service business, I would first attempt to problem solve to accommodate both needs. One could be to either wear ""work booties"" over shoes that's so common nowadays with contractors and home delivery staff. Another would be to lay down cardboard or a plastic runner along the carpet. Knowing the amount of homes in the area that have carpet (and clean conscious owners = ), I assume this would be good to consider.

After the home visit and the estimate, he was supposed to email me a quote. I even texted him immediately after he left to ensure that he had the correct email address. Again, no reply.

It's now five days later, and after repeated texts and a voicemail, again, no response. I set aside time to be home for the inspection, which is tough for someone that works in SF. If you are particular about responsiveness and diligence, I would avoid.

Highly recommend David Massay for ALL your electrical issues!! David came to my house at 9pm on Sunday night. No other electrician picked up the phone but David was glad to stop by and evaluate the issue. I applaud his professionalism, effectiveness and courteous interaction very much. He went out of his way to help me by finding a part that was really hard to find. Very reliable, reasonable and caring! Really as good as it gets.

Tried David on a recommendation and he was fantastic. Very patient on the phone and tried to solve our issues without having to come out. As another reviewer noted, he was running a bit late to our appointment, but called us to let us know in advance which was totally fine. Turns out our issue was common for our part of Alameda so he was able to troubleshoot it and get it fixed. Very nice throughout. Will definitely call again for any future needs.
