Due to the complexity of our projects, Len, Colby and Duncan became nearly part-time residents at our home. There were three phases of the work we hired Marin SF Electric to do: 1) Bring new, beefier electrical service to the house 2) Upgrade the electrical in our kitchen; 3) Upgrade electrical in our bathroom. Each of these three projects presented their challenges due to the age of our house and the necessary interactions with PGE. I was so impressed by the calm expertise that each of these three men brought to their work. It sometimes felt like things were devolving into chaos in other aspects of the work, but they held the center. They were patient and their energy was so easy and pleasant to have around. No posturing and none of the male competitiveness that drives me nuts. They never lost their individual or collective cool, and their workmanship was a combination of artistry and skill. I would imagine one could find less expensive electricians, but really - I wouldn't bother trying. They are the best of the best. I used to resent spending money on stuff that ""doesn't show,"" and I lumped electrical in with that. But OMG! The lighting has so improved our quality of life, as has the upgraded service. PGE was horrible to work with, but Len, Duncan and Colby were at our house 12 hours one day - all three of them - trying to work with PGE to get our new service up and running. I was so impressed. I am grateful that all three of them are so young. I won't ever have to look for electricians again!

The pros:
Len was quick to call me back and schedule an appointment that same week. He showed up just about 30 minutes later than agreed, no big deal. The work he did was also high-quality and passed inspection without any issue. I felt the price was fair. Plus, as a designer I appreciate their branding (logo, trucks, etc) and felt it relevant for Marin.

The cons:
Our dishwasher suffered some collateral damage due to a mounting screw installed for an electrical box. It punctured a hose and leaked water and needed to be replaced. Len was visibly and verbally frustrated, but basically told me that he wasn't a plumber and I would need to deal with this myself; he would reimburse me for the repair. I had to spend time finding the part (which wasn't easy) and then time with a repair person to get everything back in order. Less of an issue, I also found parts/debris left behind at a couple of the areas he worked at, including one of his screwdrivers (which I returned).

Unfortunate things happen, but I feel it could have been handled a little better so the onus wasn't on me to repair his mistake. So a ding on customer service. But the work quality was strong.

Excellent job at the right cost. Len is always available for big or small jobs. I am definitely keeping his contact for the future.

The quote was $120 /hr. Len fixed the garage circuit in one hour. That was fine. He charged me $175 for the time. When I pointed out that the quoted rate was $120, he said that the first hour was $175.

There were some other factors in the charge which were not explained at the time, but Len agreed to refund the difference, and I appreciate that.

In construction there are three legs of importance - speed, quality and cost. After several years of successful projects with Len our company has realized he brings more to the table than most. Each job on time, value engineered to fit the budget, above and beyond quality. Len and his crew, especially Colby and Duncan, are assets to any project.

I had a problem with a GFI Receptacle that I had installed. It did not turn on....I panicked and called Lenny, he walked me through it, and it turned out that I hadn't pressed the reset button hard enough. Now it works.

Lenny is the best electrician my husband and I have come across in the Bay Area. Lenny is professional, smart, efficient, honest, and able to problem solve electrical issues with ease. We needed electrical work to install our HotSpring Spa. We wanted the spa to be installed immediately and Lenny made time for us. I was unaware that the spa would work better if converted to a 230 volt operation from 115 volt. Lenny explained this to me and was able to install with his team without any issues. He took the time to make sure everything was in working order before leaving. We were extremely impressed by his work. His prices are much better than other electricians in the surrounding area. Lenny also took the time to check in the following day to make sure we were happy and everything was still working well. We will definitely be using Lenny and his team for future electrical work. Highly highly recommend.
