BEWARE OF MARCO HEATING AND A/C $79 MAINTENANCE SERVICE!
My home has a Carrier A/C unit installed by Marco heating in late 2018. I scheduled their $79 maintenance service, although my unit was working fine - just trying to be proactive.
When Marco rep arrived on Aug 26, 2024 he commented 'nice to walk into a cold home'.
Service rep completes the service within 30-40 mins. Gives suggestion that capacitor could be replaced and freon is a bit low. I asked if either of these were immediate needs, to which he stated they were not. Felt like 'upselling'.
Several hours after he left I realized my home was getting much warmer - was hitting over 84 degrees - and realized there was no air coming from any of the vents.
Marco sent same Rep out to my home 8/27/24 and this guy now tells me ""I told you this unit has problems"". NEVER said any such thing - in fact commented twice about how quickly it cooled and appreciated the a/c.
Bottom line - this company now refuses to do anything to fix this issue unless I PAY FOR REPAIRS! Repairs that DID NOT EXIST before their $79 maintenance service!
Beware!!
Am filing with FL Consumer Protection Agency
Quality and service can't be beat. They are responsive and aren't out to just take your money.
Service They fit me into their schedule and fixed my air conditioner as always they were professional! They have been servicing me since we've been here- 12 years!
Marco is servicing my house for 18 yers now. We could not think of more pleasant, reliable and honest people. They respond fast to calls even at summer time. Prices are vary reasonable. We know John for 18 years. John is always professional, helpful and nice. John always takes time to explain.
We are blessed to have them.
We have been with Marco through two different houses and about 15 years. They are honest, reliable, good prices, and quick to come out for service. Kimble came out to our home a couple days ago and we can't say enough good things about him. The receptionist, Ashley, is also very nice and helpful. I highly recommend them compared to others we have tried out a couple times. I will never use anyone else but Marco ever again!!
Don't know if today was not his day or what but I had one of the most unprofessional/short mannered person (Tim) services I've had. Incredibly rude to the point I personally wanted to write a review because of the bad taste it left.
Positives: The ladies at the front desk are very kind and fast at responding back to you. Great to work with. Only reason I'll give it a star.
Negatives: My AC went out over a week ago and mind you its less than 2 years old. I had Marco come out and inspect the AC unit. Turns out my condenser was bad and had a ton of issues. When Tim had finished the inspections he gave me the run down of how much it would cost to fix the problem. Now this is JUST the labor and nothing else because all the pieces were still under warranty. This is just was he sees, so there could be more problems within the condenser.
Compressor labor - $515.00
Bi-flow drier labor - $39.00
Accumulator labor - $336
Thermal expansion valve labor - $304.00
9.5 lbs. of 410A freon @ $65 per lb. - $617.50
Total - $1811.50
The cost of labor blew my mind and so I called my mom. She couldn't believe it so she told me to call Air Max, the company she uses. Called them and they came out the next day and he told me we had a lot of issues but the final quote for labor to fix all the issues listed above would cost us $350 and then with adding freon on top of that it would end up costing just under $1,000. Don't know if this is really how Marco deals with labor cost but my husband and I felt like we were being taken advantage of with the price. Literally trying to charge for every piece that needed to fixed instead of giving us a quote for the total cost of labor that many companies do.
Called this morning at 815 and they had a very knowledgeable tech (tim) at my house by 11. I was very impressed from the start when speaking with the ladies at the office to the end when they fixed my hvac. Strongly recommend this business. Will be using them from now on!
I have used Marco's services at two different residences in Fernandina Beach. Their customer service is exemplary (Tina and Ashley are so helpful!) and they schedule you as soon as possible. I've met most of the service techs and they are excellent at what they do. They correct the problem AND take the extra steps to offer service above and beyond what I expected (and their charges are very reasonable). Thank you, Marco. You're the best!
I have been real happy with the service so far! They worked on my home system and my company's a/c units. I would tell any one they do a great job!
