I’m Manuel, but everyone calls me Manny, and I truly appreciate it! I started my electrical career in Cuba at the age of 20; it quickly became clear that I had a passion for it, prompting me to attend school and obtain my license. After completing my training as an electrician, I joined a large company in Cuba that paid me a mere $10 a month—yes, you read that correctly, just $10 each month. After five years of working for that amount, I decided to take a leap of faith and risk my life to cross the ocean on a makeshift boat that I built with 11 friends. Two weeks after our journey, we reached Key Largo, and I realized I had been reborn. I soon moved to Miami for a year, then to Orlando, where I launched my career with Terry’s Electric, an excellent company that covered my schooling for four years. Upon completing my education, I obtained my journeyman license, and after two years, I pursued my state license. Finally, after six months of hard work and late-night studying, I passed my exam to become a Certified Electrician.
