Mammoth Handyman
Company Overview
Once Mammoth Handyman, I provide basic home repairs, installations, and enhancements. I currently possess my electrical contractor's license and plan to concentrate more on commercial and residential electrical work.
I enrolled in WECA, an electrical training program, knowing very little about building trades. Over the course of the five-year commercial and residential apprenticeship, I acquired comprehensive skills in all aspects of electrical work. At the same time, I watched other trades, sought advice, and learned from my mistakes.
I finished the five-year apprenticeship on time in 2010, even though I lacked enough hours due to the economic downturn in 2009, which resulted in a slowdown lasting two years.
I felt weary of being the junior member on the team. Unwilling to travel for prolonged times, I was laid off whenever the workload decreased. Consequently, I chose to forge my own way. Whenever I faced a layoff, I took steps to establish my own company and develop it into a successful enterprise. It showed promise, but I received too many offers for jobs above the $500 threshold (the cap for handyman work), and too few jobs below that limit. As a result, I reduced the handyman business and concentrated on obtaining my electrical contractor's license.
