Mr. Ertan Atalay of Magnolia Electric just completed all electrical work for a challenging complete renovation of an old 1 BR apartment for me in the City. The work required and Ertan achieved close coordination with the general contractor. Ertan and his crew efficiently installed all new electrical fixtures and wiring for the unit. He also installed the new electric meter required. He obtained the required permits along with complete and final approval by city inspectors, and he took the lead in dealing with and satisfying PG&E and its problematic requirements. I chose Ertan because he's assisted me in the past. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced electrical contractor, is very fair, and has reasonable fees. Ertan was a pleasure to have on my job, provided very helpful advice, and he was a great help in getting the job done as quickly as possible. I highly recommend Magnolia Electric for your electrical work.

This is the second and final update to my experience with Magnolia Electric. I now know what happened. I had the back room of my house pulled down for a seismic retrofit. This exposed the work Ertan did under my house out of my sight. I found that he did not put a cover on any of the junction boxs as required by law. The spliced wires were capped but the boxes themselves were left open exposing the wiring.

I had also hired Ertan to measure and install 12 replacement windows. The molding around the windows was destroyed and needs to be replaced. My contractor informed me that many of the windows were either miss-measured or installed in the wrong casing. The windows need to be reinstalled and finished properly.

Ertan told me he was a licensed contractor. For small things like changing a switch or light fixture he is very good. I would recommend him for that level of work. If your needs are any more complicated than that, Ertan let me down big time. He did not finish the job and disappeared without ever contacting me again. I am now paying another electrician to redo a lot of the work Ertan did not do to code.

Really, you can't beat Ertan. Pleasant, smart and reliable. He's fixed our complex electrical issues in rentals and home. Replaced drywall, pigeon remediation, painted.... and more. We've used him a number of times and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I used Ertan with Magnolia Electric on 2 separate full house remodels. Both of them turned out great. Ertan went above and beyond what was expected several times. On the second project, for example, our schedule was constantly chaining due to general contractor issues - but Ertan was able to accommodate us with no problem. He was also creative in solving many difficult issues that are typical in remodeling a 100 year old home. At times he gave me good advice on other parts of the project unrelated to the electrical side. I found his knowledge of general building very helpful and enjoyed working with him. I hope I never have to do another remodel - but if I do, I would certainly use Magnolia again.
