Horrible service. I was told I needed to pay ahead of time and complied with this policy, which in fact turned out to be a scam nothing was done and I still have the same issues I originally had. I contacted several times to give them the benefit of the doubt but they made no effort to resolve the issue. Would not recommend.

First time ever that I'm writing a negative review of a business.

Carrier Air Conditioning Customer Support gave me the phone number of M & M Heating & Air Conditioning Service (M&M). I called them and a person took the details of my casitas' AC issue; it wasn't switching from heating to cooling and had the appearance of a refrigerant leak. They said they'd send out a technician to do a full diagnosis and it would cost $129/hr. The technician came by, found that there was a leak & recommended adding an Ultraviolet dye to trace. I agreed. Dye cost $145. I told him that my prior day analysis is that the AC unit was stuck in heat mode and wasn't switching to cooling (which typically needs a solenoid). He just politely listened to me but didn't quite agree.

I provided a gel mat to him as he had to kneel on a concrete surface. I even provided him with iced lemonade. I made multiple trips up and down the casita stairs; to switch the unit from heat to cool. No dice. He tested the control board, found that it was malfunctioning and said it had to be replaced. I paid the first bill on the spot. He informed the M&M office. They called Carrier and found that there was a single part available in all of America, in a New Mexico dealership. In case the dealer wouldn't part with the part (no pun intended), the second option was to wait for Carrier to provide the part. The earliest date would tentatively be December 2023; as it would have to be manufactured. Seriously!

M&M placed an order for a replacement control board. I got a call from them updating me on the status & the cost to install the control board ($276). Since I couldn't let my tenant potentially spend the entire 2023 without a functioning AC, I asked what is Plan B if the New Mexico dealership couldn't mail the part over. The lady named Cher who was on the phone was extremely rude to me. She said M&M had nothing to do with my tenant, not their problem etc. All I wanted to know was what options I may have in case the sole part wasn't available and after spending a few minutes trying to get a sensible answer, I gave up.

The next week, I was informed that the part had been obtained and the technician would come and install it. Guess what? After the technician opened the unit, he found the part number he had in hand was the wrong one. Sheesh!

Yesterday, the technician came over, installed the part and tested the AC unit. It was still stuck in heating mode. Now the solenoid was faulty and needed to be replaced. I was present on the first day he tested the voltage on the control board and the solenoid. The readings weren't stable or accurate and he even stated the same yesterday. When I asked him why he hadn't asked for the solenoid to be replaced along with the control board, he said that though the readings weren't stable or accurate, he didn't want to unnecessarily order a part which may or may not be bad. $276 spent to get an AC unit that still doesn't work.

I asked him if I would be charged a third time for replacing the solenoid and he said yes. I asked how this was fair to me as he had already prior seen a faulty reading from the solenoid but hadn't asked for it to be replaced. He called the M&M office for the lady who manages the financial stuff. She was on her lunch break and he said they'd call and discuss with me. He said I didn't need to make the payment of $276 right away and the office would handle it.

Unfortunately, the same rude M&M lady called. She informed that per Carrier, this repair would entail changing the reversing valve as well and the cost for labor & recharging the units' refrigerant would be a mere $1,350. I said that since it now was a ~$2,000 bill from the first engagement onwards, given the technician's & the AC units' track record, it was at best a 50-50 probability that the unit would work correctly. The first time the technician tried to check the refrigerant pressure within the AC unit, it didn't work. I was thinking that after spending nearly $2K, if the refrigerant could not be refilled, then what? Replace the main refrigerating unit? Another $2K+ expense?

After several vain attempts to get my point across, I asked the lady if it made sense to go forward or think of alternatives. She said could not guarantee that the AC unit would work after the 4th repair attempt. She then accused me of not paying their $276 bill. I said that it was their guy who told me that he wouldn't charge me immediately and my family were witnesses. She accused me of lying. I was also accused of being mad that I had to spend money and so on. I immediately offered to pay over the phone. After putting me on hold for a couple of minutes she took the card details and said I'd receive a receipt.

Literally, the first time in my life that I raised my voice speaking to a lady. I was at this point extremely upset as nobody has ever accused and slandered me like that. My family was stunned as they've never heard me get upset like that over the phone. Life!

M & M Heating & Air Conditioning was recommended by a friend who has been using them for several years. My air went out and I called them and they came out the next day.

They told me what the issue was and immediately resolved. My friend said he has twice a year maintenance plan with them and they come out and check in the spring and fall ahead of the extreme weather of summer and winter. I was so impressed with Lawrence and Lisa at M & M Heating & Air Conditioning, that I too went ahead and bought their twice a year maintenance plan. I highly recommend M & M Heating & Air Conditioning!

Three years ago I became tired of using the very large HVAC service companies and their endless scheme of trying to upgrade a home owner to a new unit after an annual inspection. At that time i spoke with the Carrier AC manufacturer & they recommended trying M & M Heating & Air in Stockton.

I arranged for my 3rd yearly maintenance service plan yesterday and am once again pleased with the service. Gilbert, the visiting technician was courteous, personable and highly qualified in his field. I highly recommend M & M Heating & Air and their staff.

They are the best company we have ever used for anything!! ( we've used plenty) Everyone from estimator Darren to install guys, Chris & Gabe, cher the manager to Julie the phone receptonist; were all terrific- friendly, efficient, informative with a great price to boot! Better than the other 4 companies we interviewed. Very rare to come across a company so caring and well run as they are. If your doing your hvac system this is the only call you need to make. Seriously!!!

I called a number of HVAC companies who seemed generally uninterested in answering my call for ac service. I thought that's what they do, but their bad attitudes make you feel like you interrupted there time waiting calls for whole system replacements only.

Anyway...I called M&M and received the best experience, from the gal who answered my call for service, to the technician who performed the initial troubleshooting, to the technicians who performed the removal and replacement of my old ac unit. Cordial, polite, professional and affordable, how can you beat all that.

Give these people a call, because they expect no less than you do!

Our HVAC was old and we decided to replace all of it. Our house has it in the attic. We talked to 3 companies and chose M & M. They added 2 zones on a rather small house because our master was always hot. They did what we asked for and solved all issues we were having. About 6 months later we had to replace the HVAC in a different house. That one was on the roof which required a crane maneuvering around overhead lines and a new platform to set the new unit on. Great job on both houses.

Chris and Gabriel came out to clean my ducts, they were very professional, friendly and fast. They left my place clean, and kept me informed of the process. I had quite a few questions, and these guys gave me honest answers, and didn't try to sell me anything extra, which was much appreciated. I also got a lower quote for duct cleaning with M&M than with any of the other companies I called around my area. They got a ton of nasty dirt from my ducts, I really feel like my family and I will be breathing better!

I have the original heater in my crib. It's 21 years old. Money is tight right now. My heater started tripping. If I gotta replace it I know it's gonna be a grip that I just don't have right now. Turns out it's just a couple hundred bucks and I'm good to go. They could've told me anything but my man (I can't read his name on the receipt) hit me with the truth. It's refreshing to deal with that kind of professionalism and honesty. When I'm ready to replace puppy, I'll be calling you guys. Thank you and keep up the great work.
