I arranged with Steve to install an outdoor security camera requiring an electrical outlet. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and we set a date and time for the install. Unexpectedly, he had an open spot in his schedule and thought to call me to see if I wanted him to do the install. This was great for my schedule.

He was very professional and didn't mind me watching and asking questions as I love to learn from experts. The install went without any issues and I now have the security camera I have wanted for a long time.

You can't go wrong calling on Lyons Electric.

I used this guy four years ago to do some work in my house. After the initial work he did, he charged me an extra $350 to get my boxes up to code because he did not do them up to code the first time as he was ""unaware"" of Round Rock's new codes at the time.

Now, four years later, we are having multiple issues and he refuses to return our phone calls.

This guy is a con man who doesn't stand by his work.

UPDATE: We had another electrician come out and fix the problem- Lyons Electric did not properly connect the ground wire, and it has been like that for 4 years. Take your money elsewhere!

We called Steve in a pinch just before the weekend when a DIY ceiling fan installation got complicated quickly. It was not an emergency. He was able to come first thing Monday morning and was not only on time but ten minutes early! He was so professional and nice. He not only fixed the problem but took time to explain the workings of 3-way switches. He is also very reasonably priced. I would call again or refer in a heartbeat. Thank you Steve!

I met with Steve yesterday at the house that I am under contract for and he was AMAZING! He gave me his honest advice about what he felt was wrong with the house and was super easy to talk to (why are a lot of electricians so stiff?). Steven did all of the electrical work for us for a kitchen remodel. He was always on time and did a clean and fast job wiring and installing the light fixtures. He took the time to answer all my questions and provided great feedback. All the lighting looks great. Would definitely recommend and hire him again for future projects.

We've hired Steven for two jobs so far. The first one was a smaller task when he updated our wiring for our new electric stove. We were pleased with his pricing (his estimate compared to what we actually paid was spot on), he was friendly, and he had a reasonable lead time.

When we decided to add recessed lighting to our vaulted ceiling living/dining room, we gave him a call for an estimate. He came out for a quick visit because he said that he wanted to give us an accurate estimate, and the price was right so we hired him for the job. He told us that he does not repair drywall and not knowing anything about what it takes to install recessed lights into an existing ceiling, I was expecting holes everywhere. Steven installed six pot lights and there was only one small area where we needed to patch the drywall, and that was only because he removed an existing junction box and installed a can a few inches over so that all of the lights lined up with each other perfectly. I was very pleased with his work and how clean it was since there was so little that we had to patch, and the price was actually less than his estimate.

We are going to have at least one more electrical project to tackle, and we won't think about hiring someone other than Steven. Please note, we've had him out to our house three times, and he was early every single time. As someone who has a pet peeve for tardiness...that's a huge plus in my book.

This is the fourth time I've called on Steven. The first was several years ago after I first bought my house. There were some strange surges and outlets going in and out randomly. Steve identified all the problems and also made some suggestions that would need to be addressed down the road. The second was to install a new line for a hot tub. His installation we very professional and at a fair price. The third was after work from a contractor to the exterior of my house. They had to pull my main panel from the house and when reinstalling it, they caused some issues which pretty much reuined my outside panel. The panel was old and part of the suggested improvements Steven had initially suggested. When I called, he was already busy with another job and wouldn't be able to make it out as quickly as I needed. He offered another company even though he knew it would be an expensive job. So this last time, I needed a replacement breaker and line for a new hot tub. Steven gave me very fair pricing and the work was completed on time and with excellence. I highly recommend Lyons Electric and will be calling on Steven again should the need arise.

Steve and his assistant have done great work both times they have worked for us: replacing all of our switches and outlets to deal with aluminum wiring, and fixing some weird wiring with our AC system. He takes plenty of time to answer questions on the phone and in person, and is very professional and friendly. We will definitely call him next time we need help.
