We called Lykos Electric and AC after a series of events that were out of our DIY scope.

Our Trane AC stopped pushing heat at the beginning of winter. We were still diagnosing the issue when an outlet in another part of the house caught fire (likely overloaded by our space heater) and we luckily noticed the smell of smoke.

Lykos scheduled 2 appts. and sent an AC tech to the first one and Martin and his son arrived later for the electric issue. All appts were scheduled with text notification and text updates which was very efficient and professional. I was able to ask a few questions via text for clarification, and both teams arrived promptly per their appt. times.

But the most important thing is that they were very professional and obviously beyond pros. They had our heat working within an hour. After changing the burned outlet, they diagnosed the culprit which exposed a huge silent problem spanning years. They tightened wires all over the place and made things much more secure, but they also discovered areas that are not fully code compliant (even though previous work had passed inspection). They mapped out the additional work needed for us to get everything up to code and gave us a priority list. I won't consider using anyone else for the next phase of work. Martin and his team are wonderful, dependable, fair and competent.

I'm really happy we found them and I'd highly recommend Lykos Electric and AC for any AC or electric work needed.

Lykos has been out to my place twice, once to rewire a room and a second time to diagnose and fix lighting in my hallway and kitchen. Both times were very positive experiences as Martin is very courteous and competent. He went into detail regarding my electrical problems and solutions, so I always understood what he was doing and why. It's hard to find a good electrician for a reasonable rate in Austin which is why I can recommend Lykos without any reservations.

Martin and his team do an amazing job. We had an old house with aluminum wiring. They fully rewired it and redid all of our AC duct work for a fair price. Even put in Cat6 Ethernet throughout for us.

We ran into issues with our handyman and drywallers but Martin was always patient and helpful, even coming out to fix an AC issue that was separate from the original job.

Can't recommend these guys enough if you need work done in the Austin area.

I needed help with a sizable number of small to mid-size electrical projects - from installing canister lights to adding electrical outlets to fixing several problem areas in our electrical box. Arturo was extraordinarily effective and kind. Martin arranged for him to come to our home immediately upon hearing that we had no AC overnight. The fix was completed for a very fair price and I look forward to call Lykos again for both HVAC and electrical issues.

This was a fantastic experience. Martin and his crew (son Judah and Arturo or Antonio?) were the 3-man crew throughout. Very knowledgeable, professional and approachable. I had assorted smaller jobs (though they also included upgrading my circuits/electrical panel.
I was also impressed with the quote and the fact that my job wasn't ""wedged"" in between a bigger/more important job. The job was accomplished from start to its finish, as though mine was the only job that mattered. I appreciate that. I would definitely use Lykos again, in fact, I am already starting a list of other projects that I'd like to do.

Martin and Lykos did a nice job replacing some old recessed lighting fixtures with some updated fixtures in our living room. It was a small project and I got some crazy quotes from highly Yelp rated competitors. Lykos offered a much more reasonable price and did a great job of keeping our living room clean while doing some messy work.

Martin was referred to me by a friend to correct the problems noted in the inspection before I bought my home. What a polite professional! He did a top notch job of correcting the electrical hazards in my home & installing our new HVAC system. He went above & beyond, was always on time, and thoroughly explained everything, including costs. His son Jude and Antonio are also very reliable. Martin and his team came back out today to install a second Nest Cam in our backyard (we saw great value in having the front door one!). He and his team installed the camera with great ease, while also advising me of 2-3 areas where the camera would have the most impact.

On the way out, Martin was thorough in cleaning up, and even went above and beyond to secure and close up an electrical box in my attic that had some exposed wires (and didn't charge me extra for it, which was nice).
