Martin was referred to me by a family member who has worked with him and his team. We needed to get our kitchen outlets up to code by installing several GFCIs and at the same time we decided to update the lighting in two of our bathrooms.

Martin came out to our home to scope out the project. He is very professional, looked around and explained what the job would entail. When we were ready to schedule, we quickly arranged a date. On the day of the job, Martin and two of his assistants, Mike and Brian came ready to work. Martin walked through our home explaining in detail the scope of the project- they started around 9:00am and were completed around 4:00pm. Mike and Brian know what they're doing! I was expecting all of the power to the house to be shut off for the day and was happily surprised that they worked to isolate the power source so I was able to work from home that day uninterrupted. I had decided that I wanted to replace all of the switchplates and bought enough to redo the entire house- I asked if they could help. and they happily assisted. When the work was done, they cleaned up everything. We are extremely pleased with the job. Thank you.

Martin is professional, honest and a skilled electrician; and a nice guy to boot! He installed a flush mount art light, moved a junction box, hung a major chandelier and ceiling fan. The attention to detail was primo: placing down protective blankets, etc. After the work was done, Martin cleaned up everything nicely. Overall, I am very satisfied with Martin's work and ability to work with me. I would recommend Martin and plan to use him again after the holidays for additional installations and updating.

We needed to replace the old knob-and-tube wiring in the attic of our 1924 bungalow. Martin responded promptly to my inquiry and was able to arrange to do the job within a week. It was NOT an easy job--lots of funky DIYs and weird patch-up jobs had accumulated over the years. Still, Martin and his crew handled it with good grace and showed a thoroughness and care for detail that impressed me. We had a slight cost overrun, but it was all spelled out to me beforehand and really not excessive given the challenges they faced. I'm also impressed with Martin's demeanor; he's very polite, intelligent, and strikes me as a man of integrity. His employees Rodney and Nate were also good guys to have around. Took one star off because they are not quite as meticulous as their boss; they damaged a couple of stone switch plates and mixed up the light fixtures in several rooms (put the wrong ones back in the ceiling), which is just careless. But overall we will recommend Lumiere Electric.

Lumiere installed our landscape lighting about a year ago. The job was done in a very professional, workmanlike manner. I enjoyed working with Martin. He discussed my landscape lighting design with me and made helpful suggestions for economy. When I had to replace a transformer-switch unit, after the one I provided failed, he worked with me via email to specify a proper unit and to walk me through its installation. All is working great now. Our landscape lighting is the best in the neighborhood.

Lumiere Electric did a great job of updating the wiring and lighting in the second floor of our house. They replaced the remaining knob and tube wiring and installing sealed recessed light fixtures that stopped the warm air in the house from leaking into the attic. Martin Ortega is a great electrician and a reliable contractor. I would trust him completely with responsibility for a much larger job than this one.

Lumiere has done two small residential jobs for us and we have been very happy with the service and results. Martin installed a ceiling fan in apartment where the ceilings are 18 feet high - not the easiest job. He patiently and carefully completed the work. At the end of the job, we appreciated that Martin spent the extra time positioning weights on the fan blades to remove any noticeable wobble. Martin also recently installed LED recessed lighting for us, replacing old compact fluorescents. We are really happy with his work. Again, he took the extra time to position the recessed lights so they fit flush. One didn't fit and there was a gap so Martin filled the hole in with spackle. Overall, the work Lumiere completed has been excellent. Martin is personable and provides recommendations when asked for it. You can't go wrong with these guys.
