So I had an appointment with both the electrical and the plumbing side. Called on a Saturday around noon. Was told plumber would be there that day by 5:30. At 7:30 I didn't hear anything, so I called and was told they would be out as the first job on Sunday. That got pushed back until 4:30 then push again until Tuesday. Job finally got completed on Thursday and I think we were overcharged.
Electrician showed up on Thursday as well, after initially being told they would be there on Tuesday. Wanted to charge us over $4300 and gave us no alternative options. Got a second opinion and had it fixed for under $175.00 (That is why I feel we got ripped off on the plumbing side).

So poor rating due to multiple missed appointments, poor communication, high rates and over inflated estimates.

I signed up for the Plumbing membership and they were to come out and do an inspection on my house. I scheduled this 3 times and they never came. On each scheduled visit, they did not show, nor did they call to advise.

I will never call this company again and I strongly suggest that you don't either. I had a outside faucet break and thank goodness that I had a way to cut the water off at the meter. I called Gene Love plumbing and according to their ad they advertise their services as reasonable. A plumber came out looked at the problem for 90 seconds and said he would go figure an estimate. He charged me 137.00 to look at it (5480.00 dollars an hour, pro-rated) and gave me an estimate of 560.00 to replace the faucet. Needless to say I said no thanks and got someone else. Unless you have water going in your house with no way to turn it off and you can't get anyone else ""DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY""

I have used Gene Love for a variety of projects around the house. I have had absolutely no qualms about continuing to use them for my needs around the house. Furthermore, they have been upfront about pricing, work required, and have been the most professional group I've worked with in a while.

Love repaired our shower incorrectly. This resulted in water running inside our wall for 5 hours with NO response from their 24 hour emergency line (after 5 calls) from Love. The plumber sent to repair the repair the next day stated the job was done incorrectly the day before. Now 3 years later, we have serious repair issues to our shower. It took Love from March 10 to April 21 to provide the correct insurance carrier information so I can file a claim against their insurance. My request process included phone calls, 3 Love techs looking at the damage, multiple emails and a face to face meeting with the Customer Service Manager Mike & Company Master Plumber Bobby. STILL have no results on getting my shower repaired. If I can get this repairs I will not use this company nor recommend to anyone else... TOTAL disappoint with a company that I thought was a reputable firm..STAY AWAY..Wish I could have given negative stars..Ed S

My house has an uncanny habit of things breaking down after hours and on weekends, which is why I pay $23/month for Gene Love's Forever Fixed Plan. In fact, it's really the the only reason I have their service plan is for the 24/7 emergency service. This is the second time I've tried using it and this is the second time they've refused to come out. This time, their ""on call"" guy (Corey, according to the call service) hasn't even bothered to call me back. In the meantime, it's about 60 degrees in my house, I haven't slept most the night, and my layers are wearing layers. I'm calling tomorrow to cancel the service plan and will go with another company.

I was initially very happy with Gene Love. Our air handler went out and we very uncomfortable. They fit us in quickly. After installing a new heat pump and air handler, we were having extreme humidity in the house. They came back twice, but the problem persisted. We had another company come out to clean the ductwork and discovered the source of the humidity: the installers had not hooked up the main return. All of the moisture from the crawl space was coming through the return. The system was attempting to cool and dehumidify the crawl space. This could have been avoided if the technicians would have come back the next day to check the system.

We had electrical and plumbing work done by Gene Love and were happy with the work, but our experience with the heating and air soured us on the company.

Worst plumbing company ever!!!. They charged us a service fee to come out and check our hot water heater. Then set an appointment to come out yesterday to fix it, NO ONE SHOWED OR CALLED. From the reviews this is their motto!!!. THEY saw they be but NEVER SHOW!!!

I also had a bad experience with Gene Love. One guy they sent propped up a pipe under my sink with a can of comet cleanser to make it appear a pipe that was too short fit. Must have also put in a worn pipe, as it sprung a leak about 6 months after it was installed. That is when A different plumber from another company discovered the shady installation. I would never use them again!

CROOKS! If you want to pay high prices go with Gene Love. If you want to get just as good of service for a fraction of the price Call Around and you'll find more affordable options! They charged me $65 to come out and look, then quoted me $850 to change out a meter panel and made it sound like they were doing me this huge favor on a Saturday afternoon that no one else would do. Luckily I called around and found Tucker Electric out of Elgin. They were there within an hour and charged me $160 for the exact same service and even sent 2 guys instead of 1. Gene Love could have charged me half of what they quoted and I probably would have done it and they would of still made good money but instead they tried to take advantage of the situation and now all they get out of it is a bad review.
