Hired them to come out and electrical issue with marine shower pump and general labeling of electric panel. The billing was outrageous, charged for things not used. Then next time I take the boat out, the bilge pump didn't work. It had been working before Louie's got to my boat. Got my regular engine mechanic to look at it out only to find out Louie's had disconnected it. Stay away.

I had some work done on my '17 Frauscher GT recently (08/2022) while on vacation in Clearwater, Florida. I called Louie's Marine Electric. Yes, Louie is a little pricey, however, the quality of work and the prompt service is well worth the price tag in my book. I thought I would be waiting a few days for parts & service, but Louie had all the parts & his technicians ready to go! Louie kept my boat and my family on the water! Louie's Marine Electric saved my vacation! Again, thank you so much Louie!

Not a good experience...
I purchased a new boat and needed some help. Needed help with 30amp shore power. As part of it they said they would replace a broken aft light as well. I should have said no to that, but I was very busy. They showed up replace the aft light and never touched the 30amp. Called them right away and they sent another guy out a few days later. He was good but not $1,000 good!!!! As part of this they were going to diagram out the shore power. What they provided me was a diagram on a cocktail napkin. If they wanted $1,000 you would think they would do better. I contested the bill and he reduced the hours on the labor by 1, and I paid the bill to be done with them! 6 months later they sent me an over due notice.
I will NEVER call or use these guys again. A bit deceptive.....

We arrived at the Dunedin Municipal Marina while traveling the great loop and it was our first encounter with Ground Fault breakers. I knew this day would arrive given our old boat but in three months of travel this was our first encounter with GF breakers on the dock. Our boat tripped the breaker and one of the live-aboard boaters suggested I call Louie. I was reluctant to call him since it was after hours so I sent him a text. Within minutes Louie called and after asking some questions about the age of my boat and the electrical panel, he explained to me what he suspected was going on and what would be needed to fix it. Louie offered to come on New years Eve and he and his equally capable Electrician showed up on time and quickly confirmed his suspicions plus another small issue. They worked efficiently to fix both issues. The work is neat and they explained very carefully what they were doing and why. We are now prepared for any dock power and also safer. Louie and Tim were courteous and meticulous in getting everything right. They had all the parts and tools on their van and they stayed until the job was done and everything was double checked. The charges were very reasonable for a job well done. Thank you Louie and Tim!

Louie has serviced my boat(s) for years and several other folks at the marina. Absolutely top notch work and extremely responsive. If it has wires- Louie can tackle the job.

I have to concur with the other gentleman (Shaun C) who lambasted Louie's Marine Electric for some pretty shady practices.
I recently was victim of their ""padding"" their hours and perhaps parts.
I had some work done on my 2006 Crownline Cruiser at Anclote's Harbor Marina and although the work seems OK (I haven't tested the new components yet) it is the padding of the hours and parts that resulted in an invoice that was easily double of what I was quoted in the beginning.
I found the worker Tim taking his time, taking cigarette breaks and just down right shooting the bull, all while the clock was supposedly ticking away at $109 per hour.
I have asked for a printed invoice so I can read the invoice clearer and have asked for a list of all parts used so I can compare parts prices.
He won't give me either and refuses to give me a list of parts used until I pay the bill FIRST.
I would seriously look at other alternatives as the other gentleman has stated.
Two, to me is a trend.

We contracted Louie's electrical to fix our 53ft Hatteras through an insurance claim. In the beginning, Louie seemed to be fair and honest and so we referred him to several other clients in our marina that had electrical issues too.
After the insurance claim was closed out, we kept having the same major issues that we had to begin with. We are having to pay another electrician to fix their mess up.
We have cameras on our boat and It came to our attention that they were padding their bills a lot, in fact almost doubled what they should have been. After employing a new electrician and notifying our insurance broker, we found out that they had installed a lot of unnecessary equipment too, as well as installing smaller inferior batteries which now cannot run our house sytem
On top of this, while we were out of the country, we had pet sitters who were not in yet on the first day of our vacation. Louie's electrical came onto our boat without our permission and started the motors. Our small chihuahua was on board and panicked (as they were well aware of from previous times) and escaped down the stairs. A fellow captain caught him, brought him back to the boat and warned him to keep the door closed because he was running down the dock. They ignored this advice and started the motors yet again. This time he jumped off the boat to the dock and broke his leg so badly it had to be amputated at the shoulder. We were devastated, our holiday ruined and we notified him that he would be liable for this negligence upon our return.
The sad part in all of this (besides a touch and go situation and our dog having to live the rest of his life with 3 legs) is that Louie's electrical does not think he is responsible and we are now having to sue him for medical bills and for the shoddy work performed.
Our advice is to run as far away as you can from this company. Louie is not honest, they are irresponsible and negligent and will take you for a ride. Use anyone else, just not them.
