EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! Tom returned my call right away and came by my house later that day to access and discuss my project. He made some great suggestions to help me save money. When my ev charger arrived, he scheduled a time to install it the next day. His work was absolutely perfect. I couldn't be happier. Thanks Tom! The plug on my Prius Plug-In broke, and I could no longer charge my car. All the dealer would offer was to replace the whole cable and plug for $840. After calling a number of electricians, I got Tom Lory.

He was prompt calling back, friendly, flexible. He went and got the new part on his own time, showed up right on time, and did the work quickly and skillfully. Only charged $105, parts included!!

I highly recommend him.

I had an emergency when the electricity went out at my house including where my modem box is while i was working (no WiFi!!).

A lot could be wrong, I have the Christmas tree lit (yes, during the day, don't judge me), the portable heater going at full blast plugged in to an extension cord, along with a few other things that could be the culprit. I unplugged everything and turned everything off. I tried turning all the switches in the electric box off and on, nothing. I found Tom here on Yelp, left a message, and he quickly called me 30 mins later (thank goodness). Over the phone, he was able to walk me through a checklist to get it to work, and now I have electricity again, just like magic. Thank you!

The collection of five-star ratings you see for Lory Electric are legit. We couldn't be more pleased with the service we've gotten from Tom. We're new homeowners and we've had him out for two major service visits since moving to Novato, one a planned visit to replace some old existing fixtures and one to replace a subpanel that had started to fail. Both times he was efficient, friendly, responsive, and diligent about respecting our home. Work quality is top-notch. He did a great job turning our boring storage attic into a lighted area that is now our daughter's art space. Prices were very reasonable each time. And to top it off he's been great about answering my questions about future projects. I hope we find a Tom in every other type of contractor we may need.

I had a great experience with Tom installing an EV charger. As this was my first EV charger installation, I didn't know everything to expect and Tom made it so easy. He was really responsive to both emails and calls, getting back to me no later than the next business day. He was really informative and had good advice about the various brands, what to look for when researching, and what made sense for my home. Taking care of the permitting process for me made things really easy on my end. I also really appreciated his transparency: his verbal estimate at the time of the consult was right in line with the quote and was definitely reasonable, especially for his attentiveness and the quality of the work. I definitely recommend Tom!

Tom added an outlet for us that allows us to hook up our generator to our electrical panel. He did an excellent job at a fair price and stuck to his original estimate. He was very honest, responsive and a great communicator through the entire process. The county inspected his work today and also said he did a great job. Highly recommend him.

We lost power in the room where we have our WiFi. Prior to coming over Tom gave me a free tutorial on fixing it myself. He was in and out in 20 minutes and we were back in business.
Tom's fee was very reasonable and he's the guy I'll call next time I need any electrical work.

I'm sure everyone in Marin has been gouged by a contractor or a contractor has tried to gouge them since we all in Marin are so rich. I contacted several electricians telling them I wanted pricing so that I can connect a generator to my home's electrical system rather than running a bunch of extension cords. Most of my estimates were between $2.5K and $3K, but Tom Lory quoted me between $600 and $700 and did a superb job as well as giving me priceless information about buying a generator. Tom is a friendly, personable guy, but more importantly he is a master electrician. And most importantly, he is honest! I highly recommend Tom as an electrician to anyone who has the need.

Today while cooking breakfast the electric stove stopped working. The oven was off, part of the kitchen and family room electricity and back yard lights all off. I called Lory Electric and left a message before work hours. Shortly I received a call back from Tom. I told him the problem and he took the time to walk me through the investigation process: turn off all breakers then back on, go look at the smart meter and see what is displayed. He figured out that the house wasn't getting enough electricity, and that it was not the homes wiring. He said to call PG&E. I called, they cane out quickly and found that their line to the house was corroded, which was fixed.
I'm so grateful to Tom for taking his time to help me resolve this problem. I know that he could have come out to the house for a service fee to diagnose the problem. He was ethical and helpful. That is why I'm taking the time to write this yelp review. I never saw him in person, I didn't pay him anything, but he gave me his time and greatly needed help. If I ever need an electrician, I will call Lory Electric. Thank you Tom, I appreciate you! I hope you do well in your business: you deserve it.

I messaged Tom a video of my lighting project. He answered multiple questions and explained how the project could be completed. Eventually, he said he would be able to do it, but that a lighting store would probably be easier for me. Even after he suggested that I go elsewhere, Tom researched a referral for me. It was so incredibly thoughtful, nice, and honest that he continued to help me even he sent me to another place of business - Above and beyond helpful!
