Roy and Devin were great, got here on time and took care of all maintenance more. Would definitely recommend, also great with our dogs.

Lightning Service truck just deliberately cut me off in Harahan. He was at a stop sign and I had the right of way and he just pulled out anyway. He saw me. I guess he just didn't feel like waiting. I can only image with the 1.5 average stars shown here that this company's work is as good as it's driving.

For those getting ready to buy a Generac generator I want to share our hurricane Ida experience. As an emergency services and equipment provider one might rightfully expect some form of accessibility by the provider after a hurricane. Especially since we're dealing with $25,000+ equipment. My 20+ calls over the last week to Lightening went to a full voice mail never cleared. No communication. We had a pre-storm scheduled maintenance after the storm. They did not show. They did not call. For those of you exploring the idea of an expensive, high-end generator and attaching your belief that full run time based on your full service agreement will happen, good luck. My 22k Generac kicked off an alarming number of times. Yes, we learned how to change oil and filter; no thanks to Lightening. The other shutdowns took a different approach to fix; no thanks to Lightening. Generac was minimal, if any, help and were rude and could not be bothered with us having no power. I had to figure on my own how to defeat the shut down mechanisms on the control panel to keep power. When you are in 105 heat with no power and no tools and no mechanical skills and you need a service provider that provides service, at least to answer questions, you may want to think about the provider's track record of availability.

Just got charged $84 for Scott to give me a quote of $500 to install a new thermostat. He was here for a max of 10 minutes. And that's after 40 years of being a loyal costumer!

Lightning Service fixed my broken AC, but their fees are way, way, way too high. I wish I had checked the BBB before I called them, so I could have seen all the other complaints they have. Most businesses don't have ANY. And all of the positive reviews? Very suspicious. Most reputable business don't have any positive reviews either. Check for yourself, no one usually bothers to write a positive review on the BBB.
Here's what happened to me: my service call was about $100, which I'm ok with since it was after hours. But they charged me $350!!! to change a capacitor. For those who don't know (like me before I agreed to the fee), the capacitor only takes 5 minutes to change and costs $15 online. How do you get $350 from that?? That's ridiculous. It's not like it requires any special skill, and as long as you short the capacitor with a screwdriver the rest is like changing a battery in your radio. A trained monkey could do it.
This company is taking advantage of people who don't know any better and are desperate to get their AC working again (like me). I usually don't write reviews, but what Lightning Service is doing isn't fair and isn't right.

On 1/18/2018 Lighting Services performed a repair on my Central AC/Heating System. They charged $349.00 for labor (the parts are under warranty), which also included a Diagnostic / Trip Charge. They claimed they had to replace the control board, which I told them was replaced less than a year ago. Do these boards need to be replaced that frequently in a Lennox System? Within hours after the repair (the same day) the system went down again with what appeared to be the same symptoms, which makes me question this first repair. They came back the next day after I reported the system was down again and replaced a switch and charged an additional $177.47 in labor.
Lightning Service, Inc. claims that the labor and Diagnostic /Trip Charge would have been the same ($526.47) even if they would have fixed the problem in one trip versus two. Just image what the cost would be if the parts were not under warranty. They claim they charge by the task via flat rate. Under this scenario it looks like if they were in the automotive business and they replaced a clutch and thowout bearing in one order, they could charge to disassemble your transmission from the engine twice because both tasks require this step.
I would never recommend this company.

As others mentioned, expensive and unresponsive. Lack of communication skills. Also believe they are unprofessional and unethical. With so many other options, why use this company at all?

For generator installation go elsewhere! We had a whole house generator installed in 2012 that still doesn't work. We are using our third generator contractor since installation. Gas plumbing has had to be redone tree times to get the size large enough to meet specs. Having finally got public utility, gas plumbers to resize pipes, regulators, and meters we now are focussed on the mechanics of the Gen-er-Wreck generator. Lightning didn't even as much as engage the problem when it became clear it wasn't working. As soon as it looked complicated, Lightning fled the scene. Our third contractor said the manufacturer was only hearing there was a problem as of 2015. This could be purely a manufacturer problem, but the total plumbing overhaul indicates otherwise. Subsequent nasty-grams to both the manufacturer and Lightning have only created whining, lawyered-up defensive ""you should have told us!"" responses. Our current contractor has dropped Generac as a supplier. flee! Run!

Roy and Corbin were prompt and took care of all issues that we had with our electrical outlet installation. They went above and beyond their job description and helped us out with a few other issues as well.
Great service and respectful. Would recommend again.

Would not use this company again nor recommend them to anyone! We had a new air conditioning unit installed in 2011 ($10,000!) The unit was shutting itself off and we thought it was bc the drip pan was full so we kept emptying the pan. The last time it shut itself off my husband went in the attic to explore the issue and found the drain pipe wasn't connected and water was all over the ceiling. We had them come out and of course the issue was not their problem. It was the pipe that it was connected to that was faulty. The pipe is not covered. The pipe is old and should be changed out is what I was told. When I asked how come we weren't told that 3 yrs ago when the unit was installed their response was bc they are not licensed plumbers and cannot tell us if the pipe is bad. I then asked how they know the pipe is bad now and he said that wasn't what he said. I was putting words in his mouth... He also said the technician that came out had told him that the pipe was the issue and the issue wasn't on their end. However, the technician told my husband when he was out that the drain pipe more than likely wasn't connected properly. I don't know if he told my husband that so my husband wouldn't be upset with him or told his boss the opposite so they wouldn't be responsible but the technician obviously was telling us different stories. He also said I hadn't had the unit serviced by them since 2012, which is true bc they are way too expensive. We have had it serviced by someone who is half the price that they are and that I trust 100x's more. This company has no clue what customer service is! Do yourself a favor and do not use them. Their only good review is from an ex employee... What does that tell you?
