Nick B.Called to make appointment as several of our sockets weren't working. I tried all suggestions online to fix myself to no avail. Instead of Lightning Electrical coming to the house, they spent 15 minutes on the phone having us troubleshoot, and their suggestions worked! This saved us money. I appreciate them very much and will now call them when I have another electrical issue. Thanks very much!
Cathy S.Rick was awesome! He installed my hot tub electrical box. I am glad to see him still in business as it's taken me years to write this review for him (sorry!). I still think of how friendly, professional, and fair he was with pricing.
I now have a new hot tub, same electrical box. It was installed now 9 years ago! LOL
I highly recommend him for any electrical needs.
I just moved to Pflugerville and had a few electrical issues pop up in our home. When I called our home warranty, they put us in touch with Lightning Electrical. Two electricians, Israel and Rene`, came out the next day to fix the problems. They were prompt, courteous, very knowledgable, and provided a great service. These two guys did a fabulous job diagnosing, fixing the problems, and offered some helpful information. While they were here, I asked if they could install an outlet in a bathroom that did not have one. They were so nice about doing that extra bit. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Lightning Electrical, especially these two electricians.
Keelee Q.Our Christmas lights kept going out and killing everything on the same circuit so I called our home warranty company HWA to file a claim. Rick (the owner) came out to fix it a few days later. It was freezing cold but he took the time to determine which wire was causing it to trip. He also replaced the GFC and was patiently waiting to see if the lights would go back out. I also asked about a quote for another job and he provided a few options and quote on the spot.
Joe and his apprentice were absolutely fantastic!!! They diagnosed the problem with our ceiling fan quickly and already had the right parts with them. Joe was super knowledgeable with 20 years of experience as an electrician and also very professional and courteous. He even cleaned up my floor after the job! They secured the partially detached ceiling fan and got it to work normally in less than an hour, including getting up on the attic to replace the entire supporting bar/bracket. The final bill was also less than expected. I would definitely use them again!
I don't agree with the poor ratings given by others because I hired them to install hanging lighting over my kitchen counters , install an out of the norm ceiling fan, and led under cabinet lighting. Rick the owner did the job and he exceeded my expectations in quality of work and price. I would definitely hire him for my next project and encourage anyone needing a dependable excellent electrician to use him. Alan Keenan
Wow Rick came on time for the appointment for the quote but really didn't want the job because it was a small job and I was going to provide some of the mistrals for the job to lower the cost but his bid was high for 2 circuits to be installed garage 240 Volt . One circuit was 30 amp and the other was going to be 50 amp . Well he showed up a 1.5 week later (first appointment canceled on his behalf ) His attitude was poor and really in a hurry to get a free lunch and instead of 50 amp he said that all I need was a 30 amp to support the mig welder I had right now !! Well what happen if I upgrade to bigger welder in the future ???? So he charged me for 50 amp service and installed wiring and breaker for 30 amps (Thanks for listing to what the customer wants ) I will not call Lightning electric again !!
This company has no clue what they are doing. Dealing with the owner seems to be more of a challenge also (Rick). They do not seem to want to honor their work from hanging light fixtures to outlets. They like to charge for simple things rather than honoring their work. Don't worry though estimates are FREE!!
We hired this company a little less than a year ago to put in all new lights and fix outlets that were not working. On one light the electrician installed a new switch a way he was not supposed to and it was not until he showed back up later that day with his boss to look at it that we were even told of the issue. They had to put an extra hole in the ceiling of a bathroom that is covered with a plastic plate now. They hung several lights on chains that we have since had to redo because they were having from the cord itself and not the chain. The outlet they ""fixed"" have all 1 by 1 stopped working. And now less than a year after paying them hundreds of dollars to do all this work half the outlets in my home don't work and I'm now paying a new electrician to come fix everything.
The staff was very nice but not knowledgable when it comes to actually doing the installation or repair of lights or sockets.
Katy F.Rick from Lightning Electrical turned our frown, upside-down!
A little backstory first: An electrician was hired by our home's previous home owners to replace the exterior breaker box while our home was in escrow. What they didn't know was that he was going through some personal problems and halfway through, he left this job hanging. Literally hanging- the only thing keeping the power box in place was one of our new home's electrical wires and a well-placed 2x4. The inspector from the City of Austin visited the house several times to try to get the electrician to fix it to code before finally shutting down the power to our house. The previous owners had moved out by this point and we had begun moving in. Mind you, this was in the middle of August and August in Austin is a horrible time of year to have all of the power to your house completely shut off.
Rick and his team were called and they came out promptly the next day. They were fast and completely redid all of the work that the previous guy had done (which was great because on top of everything else, the previous guy had installed the wrong type of box and hadn't properly grounded our electrical system) and they had the job finished within a couple of hours. They even labeled all the breakers for us so we know which one controls what. They then called the inspector to come back out and we had the power turned back on shortly thereafter. The fans and A/C kicked on and we were able to finish the rest of our move in relative comfort. Thank you Lightning Electrical for fixing our electrical nightmare!
