In 2016, I moved to Texas to establish Lighthouse, my own electrical contracting business. I wanted to create something local that allows me to work from home instead of traveling nationwide and internationally for electrical projects as I had done before.
With a background in construction, my Grandfather directed me into the electrical trade. I started my apprenticeship early on. I was taught by experienced electricians about the importance of quality electrical work. To this day, I appreciate the challenges and specialized skills required in electrical work.

I have served as Project Manager for some of America's top electrical contracting firms and major international contractors, overseeing projects with electrical scopes exceeding $60 million. Even though I thrive on the challenges of complex projects and large organizations, I made the decision to start my own company after moving to Texas in 2016.
I think the knowledge I acquired from managing extensive projects and portfolios, as well as understanding successful company operations, is best utilized in a venture I can develop from scratch.

This guy by name Joe from Lighthouse Electric installed Tesla charger for us. Right after he left the front lights stopped turning on and the sprinkler system stopped receiving power. At first, for the front lights, I thought the bulbs were out. And for the sprinkler system, I thought it was a display issue and changed the 9V battery for the sprinkler system. However it turned out the front lights weren't turning because the breaker switches in the panel weren't turned back on after he completed the job, so I turned them back on. And since the entire sprinkler system was running off of the 9V battery it kept dying very quickly. That's when, after replacing the battery twice, I realized it was not the battery and the system stopped receiving power. I asked him to come and check if there was anything wrong with with installation of the charger because, before the charger was installed, the sprinkler system worked perfectly fine. He came and spent literally 5 mins only to tell me I need a new sprinkler control board, the failure was caused by a surge and charged me $125. I am left wondering: 1) who would charge $125 for spending 5 mins as a follow up for Tesla installation that cost $350? 2) why wouldn't one notify the customer of $125/hr ""minimum"" regardless of the actual time spent during the initial phone conversation or before taking a look?

My experience summarized: 1) shoddy job done (breaker switches left turned off after the job) 2) problem with sprinkler board not solved and I'm still out of $125 for nothing! 3) ripped off $125!

Left me hanging all day waiting till afternoon when he sent SMS that he needs to reschedule for the next day which was not acceptable since I was flying out of state at 7AM that day. Nice guy to talk to but it ends there.....

Joe was accurate in when he said he'd arrive and came with a mask on properly which is always greatly appreciated! He helped us fix our lighting issue and was able to give us a free estimate as to how much it would cost us! Definitely see ourselves requesting him again for any future issues!

Excellent service! Put in an estimate request via yelp and Joe messages me immediately on Saturday night. Attempted to troubleshoot over the phone to no avail. Joe and his assistant came on a Sunday and quickly addressed and fixed my problem for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Came out to replace a bathroom exhaust fan. Ended up not being able to because he would've had to remove a lot of drywall. First appointment was 10/30 @ 3PM. No showed so I called him around 4PM and he said he's been in an accident and forgot about the appointment. Rescheduled appointment was 11am on 11/2. I called him at 12:30 to see if he was still coming and he said it'd be in the afternoon. No big deal. Still charged me the ""minimum"" of $125 for 15 or so minutes of assessment. There was no notice of this policy when we spoke on the phone.
I ended up calling another company that installed the fan in less than an hour without the excess drywall removal that Joe says was needed. The electrician that installed it said that Joe was just being lazy. Either Joe didn't know the method or he was wanting the free money. Either way I view it as unsatisfactory, especially when the company that did the install only charged me $40 more than the ""minimum fee"" that Lighthouse charges and he actually did the work. So many warning signs that I should've seen. Live and learn.

In reply to your post. You did not disclose the $125 fee. Don't lie.
The outer dimensions of the fans were identical. The electrician simply cut into the housing to access the joist nails then secured the new housing by screwing it to the joist.

I run a small business that is very busy and always has deadlines for any type of repairs or maintenance. Recently we shut down for three days in order to do some much-needed repairs and we decided to use Lighthouse and Joe for our electrical issues. Joe made himself available anytime we needed him even when it was last minute. He treated us as a priority even though I'm sure he had many other things going on that required his attention. The work he did was professional and he and his crew were always on time and courteous. When we have work to do in the future I will definitely be using Joe. I cannot recommend him enough.

I was having issues with a breaker switch and they came out same day. Other company's were saying it would take week to get in. The breaker was connecting my refrigerator which I need. I took a picture of my breaker box and they picked up a switch on their way to my house. Installed and no other issues! They were way cheaper than other companies. Very professional and courteous! I will definitely use them again. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Joe enough. He was very patient with my lack of knowledge, and provided me a quick, and affordable service. He even pointed out some flaws in my wiring that could've cost my household some serious headaches. He responded very quick to my request (it was early evening), and he was out first thing the next morning. I'll be calling him back to help me with future electrical projects.
