This company is a fraud. I had a Generac Generator installed by Lightforce and it was a total disaster from beginning to end.
Firstly, the were 5 late starting the install.
My whole goal was to have it complete by storm season. I chose them over the long established Generac dealer in our area b/c they said they could compete the job in a matter of weeks. Anytime I attempted contact with the shop manager I no one would answer. Because they had my deposit I waited. It took them no time at all to complete the job once they got there, but this should've been a clue. A couple of months after the install we had some real bad weather. All of a sudden the power went out. We waited for the generator to come on and nothing happened. My husband went outside to see what happened and looked in the transfer switch: it blew up and was filled with water. We sat there in the dark all night. First thing the next morning we tried calling: no answer. We tried calling them all day and the next. We left messages: no one would call us back. So finally we called the contractor we originally called and they set some one out. Once they arrived they couldn't believe what they were seeing. They pointed out that water entered the enclosure b/c they failed to use the appropriate watertight fitting in the top of the generator. Next they noticed that the area around the switch hadn't been called this explained the water damage to the interior wall behind the switch. Next they noticed that we didn't have an emergency stop or a surge protector. Both items are required by code and are installed for the safety of our home and the protection of our electronics. This explained why $2k television no longer worked properly. As the technician continued to look he found more problems: they noticed that the gas had been installed in an incorrect and shoddy manner (they didn't do the gas but they should've noticed when they did the start-up). It was pointed out to us that they totally failed to bring the house grounding up to code and that they didn't properly strap the pipes on our wall. The technician walked around our house to out ac units and noticed that the proper control and protection devices weren't installed. He asked if anything shipped with the generator from Lowes, we said yes and produced the item: it was one of the devices they were to install.
We had to spend close to $1k just to get the damaged switch replaced nevermind the repairs we had on the wall and the loss of our TV. I cannot stress what a horrible company Lightforce is. They are the quintessential grifter contractor. As bad as Lowes service it isn't as bad as these guys and they really need to part ways with Lightforce before they really mess up and cause something even more severe to happen than what they did to us.
I have nothing but loathing for this company and any like it. DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. YOU WILL REGRET IT
