Recommended Customer Reviews

this place is great and is absolutely my go-to. the store is on the small side, but has a great, well curated selection. i've been here many-a-time over the years, and i have always been pleased with the service and knowledge. highly recommend!

This place is disgusting, the owner guy is straight up BS when he tells me his prices are much better then others. Came in wasnt greeted. The owner was so fake bragging about how his items are better quality. Do us all a favor and stay away from this place...run..

Just want to give props to Tami at Light Bulbs Unlimited for her above and beyond excellent customer service today!! I live up in North County San Diego and her place of business is down by the 8 frwy. I was looking for some specific bulbs for my daughter's vanity bedroom sign that I couldn't find at those other big name hardware stores so I called Light Bulbs Unlimited for some help. She offered to look up what I needed by asking me to send her a picture of the bulb and she would ship it to me if I wanted. That way I wouldn't need to make the long drive down there. They had what I needed and it would have been a time saver for sure. But, I picked the bulbs up anyway because unbeknownst to her I was already in the area for a different reason. Tami and the staff there seem very friendly and knowledgeable so I'll definitely be heading back there when the need arises again. Much thx Tami!!

I only needed some socket to rebuild a light fixture that I broke. It should have been simple issue but turned out to be really difficult. I had a really hard time finding replacement parts.
After visiting 3 stores and getting recommendations from them to other stores I still could not find replacement fixture and had spent 3 hours looking. I went home and onto the internet where I found what I needed.
I also found Light Bulbs Unlimited on the internet when looking for the fixture. I called them to see if they really had what I needed. I did not want to driving across town for nothing. They checked and had what I was looking for. The cost was about 1/2 what I had found on the internet by the way and I did not have to pay shipping.
I drove over and picked the parts up. Because of the reviews, I took a good look at their employees. They did not seem to fit the descriptions left on some of the negative reviews. All of their employees seem to be experienced and knowledgeable employees. By the way any other attributes are totally secondary as far as I'm concerned.
They were busy completing orders (too busy to make small talk) but not too busy to take care of what I wanted quickly. As far as I'm concerned LBU is friendly enough and is competent establishment. I do recommend this store.
By the way there is another store similar name about 1/2 mile further down the street. It does have a younger staff and I'm wondering if some of these comments have the stores confused. Just a thought.

Unless you like paying well above retail, waiting a ridiculous amount of time for your lighting to arrive, dealing with unethical, incompetent sales representatives and begging for help from an unresponsive and impotent manager, avoid this business. They are attentive pre-sale, hide when orders are delayed (or more accurately, botched) and are no where to be found when their pricey products malfunction. This establishment has zero commitment to consumers and does not stand behind their lighting. I am officially pulling the plug on Light Bulbs Unlimited. Save yourself a headache and buy from Lamps Plus. They have the same inventory and their staff is actually accountable.

So, both of our kitchen ceiling fan bulbs went out and of COURSE they were some totally obscure bulbs that we couldn't find at Target or Home Depot... with super-limited time until our next gathering at home, my handsome boyfriend found Light Bulbs Unlimited using his Google fu skills, called and spoke to the owner (Julian) to confirm they had these rare little light bulbs in stock and we headed over on a quick field trip.
We walked in and three male employees were standing near the register chatting. We explain that we are here to get the super-special bulbs we called about and the employee ""helping"" us (term used loosely) said, ""Is that it?""
We asked about the cool Edison bulbs and looked around for a few minutes, then went back to the register where the same employee said, ""Is that it?"" again.
We said yes and he took my boyfriend's credit card without even telling us the total, swiped it and handed it back without a word. My man asked how much the bulbs were AFTER he had now paid and not told and the guy mumbled, ""Ten something each. It's on the receipt.""
Okaaaaay...
I asked if these were the kind of halogen bulbs that cannot be touched directly by human hands and the employee said, ""Yeah.""
I asked what the best procedure is to put these bulbs in the ceiling fan and he said, ""There is a foam thing in the box. Use that."" With that, he looked away with a disinterested stare out the window.
Seriously?
There were only two other customers in the entire store and the owner was talking to them already.
Shitty customer service is NEVER okay with me. And even if we are only spending $20-ish dollars today, that does NOT mean we may not come in another day and spend hundreds or thousands on lighting fixtures.
But now? No way. I almost apologized to the employee for wasting three minutes of his precious times, but I figured Yelping would be a better message to the owner to ensure he knows his employees are rude and dismissive to what could have been repeat customers.

To all salon owners and business owners out there looking for lighting....Elan at Lightbulbs Unlimited is your lighting specialist! Elan is very knowledgeable about tech lighting, he made a special trip to the salon to see what we had and what we needed. Lighting was ordered and shipped quickly and he was there to help us every step of the way. I strongly suggest taking your time to make sure your order is perfect because you can not return once the order is placed. No need to look around for a better price they will give you the best price, they are fair and honest. I will recommend Lightbulbs Unlimited to everyone I meet that needs lighting solutions.

Your search stops here! Excellent customer service and of course they had the unusual light bulb I needed.

Terrible experience at this shop. This place was recommended by our Electrician and it was our first and last time to shop at this place. We bought 2 pendant lights that costs almost $900. Elan Frank was the guy who sold us the lights. Not only was he rude but he just didn't bother. Our order was delayed by more than 3 weeks when it was promised to arrive in a week. During this time, I called Elan several times and never once did he return my call. It was only after we spoke to Mike that we were able to get an answer. Had we know that our order was delayed for this extended period of time, we would have canceled our order. It was a frustrating experience dealing with Elan. Even after I spoke with his manager, Joe, who sounded apologetic, nothing was done to address the issue. Never would I come back nor recommend this place to anyone. You are better off getting your lights online and save your frustration dealing with these people.

Bought the wrong watt light bulbs on Monday. Totally my fault. Took them back today and received the correct ones. The guy was helping me and another customer at the same time. He was also training a new employee. I happen to know that the lower watt bulb was almost half the price of the higher one. The guy said, even exchange! If I had said something in the store, a few people would know. On Yelp I hope to reach more potential customers. The store clerk was just plain lazy. He knew there was a price difference. Sad thing to me is he was also training a new employee to be dishonest.
