Well, I have received 3 ""robo calls"" in 3 days from Liberty Power based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. (I'm in Massachusetts, by the way). I'm one of those guys who ""follows up"" and In the third call, I spoke to a gentleman who was very polite but had a very heavy accent and I had some difficulty understanding him. As it was dinner time, I asked if I could call him back. I wanted as much information about the company before I filed a complaint with my state and federal ""do not call list"" providers and ""Nomorobo"". My phone said the return phone number was ""unknown caller"" He would not provide me with a call back number. As I have not yet received a call back, I filed my complaints anyway. I could not find any good ratings online about Liberty Power and when I asked as to the cost of the Generation Charge of electricity purchased from Liberty Power, it is 15.372 cents per KwH. I am currently with a alternate supplier instead of Eversource here in Massachusetts and I pay 10.2 cents per KwH. There certainly is no savings there. Finally, I looked up the phone number online for Liberty Power, which is 1-866-POWER99. I called them but it is ""after hours"". I guess I'll call tomorrow and let them know that the Massachusetts Attorney General will be receiving a phone call from me. All this said, Liberty Power sounds a bit shady to me. ★★★☆☆

I used them for a few years as energy supplier. When I changed location they tried to charge me $500.00 termination fee, I had to give them the paperwork and talk a few times with their rep. about how they promised not to charge me a penny because they were going to transfer the account, so I had to give them paper work, more work on my side now.

The good thing is that they finally got their paperwork together and didn't charge me. Also, having them kept my electrical bill at a steady rate I was able to get 9 cents a wtts. When I was negotiation prices with them, I did asked and got the lower rate I was looking for.

The negative, after a few years, I notice that because I had an energy supplier, Con Ed was charging me more money on the service line and so on. For now, I am closing the contract because I noticed that if I don;t have the energy supplier, Con Ed charges me less on their fees.

I still have to pay a fee for cancelling the contract. Their fee is $500.00 or less, depending on how many months you had used in the contract.
