We called Matt to give us a bid to install 4 pendant lights in our kitchen and convert two existing flourescent can lights to incandescent. We were very happy the bid was so reasonable and were thrilled with the end result. Matt is so easy to work with, very conscientious and detail oriented and very committed to doing a great job. I first called Matt to check out two things at our new house 1) To give an estimate for doing an electric dryer hookup (we had just moved our electric dryer up the stairs and everything to find out the house had gas hook-ups) 2) To give an estimate for running a 240V line out to our backyard for our hot tub.

Matt did a great job of helping us look out for how to best spend our money. Regarding #1 he said he could do an electrical hookup, but if our dryer was already several years old we might want to consider replacing it, as the gas ones are far more efficient in terms of monthly cost. Regarding #2 he explained the various parts I might want to either perform myself or hire a specialist in that particular area to do (trenching, concrete removal).

I ended up doing the trenching, concrete, and laying wire+conduit myself, so I had him do the last stretch of metal conduit (required a pipe bender, etc.) and the final hook-up to the house (getting inside the main breaker panel scares me). He was fully supportive of having me do the parts of work I felt comfortable with to help save money, and handling the parts I wasn't. After the fact he was also able to help me sanity-check when I wanted to add a 120V outdoor outlet to my new hot tub sub-panel that what I was thinking should work (and did).

I would recommend Matt whether you're not interested in doing any electrical work yourself, or if you'd like to handle some work yourself while leaving certain parts to an expert. His pricing was reasonable for a professional electrician, and he was prompt with communications- note this is a one-man operation so he may be out on job sites when you send an email or call. In any case he was clear about when I could expect replies (e.g. with estimates) or to see him on-site.

Being in need of an electrician again, I was looking through my notes I keep of contractor experiences I personally have had and then I also look at yelp and sometimes other online resources. I saw that yelp has pretty good reviews of Larson Electric, but I figured that you should all know that my experience with Larson (in summer 2012) was a poor one in that Larson made an appointment with me and then just DID NOT SHOW UP. I would have given lowest rating if poor work had been actually done, but no work was actually done. So, I'll give Larson Electric two stars. It's just unprofessional and wasted my time. Not cool.

Very reliable, knowledgable, on time & friendly. I needed three ceiling fans installed. He was able to give me a quote over the phone. He was very focused on detail and made sure it fit perfectly on the ceiling. Stated if it makes any rattling sounds call him and he'll come out and fix the problem at no charge. (so far there has been no annoying sounds). I would definitely call him with any other electrical work I need in my home.

Matt was very professional and detailed when he came to my home. He gives you a time window of availability when scheduling a time. Then he calls you the day of to let you know exactly when he would be there. Everything from a scheduling standpoint was great. He installed security lights outside. Also did kitchen drop down lights and swapped out a pair of new ceiling fans. His price was very fair for the detail and quality work he did. I would highly recommend Matt for any of your electrical needs.
