The worst costumer services that I have had to experience in my life , more than an hour hold on the phone , the city of lake worth has the most expensive services in all of Palm Beach County and it is contradictory that it has such bad customer service I have echo screenshot of each of my calls with more than an hour of waiting, please the county chief or the manager of the company to take action on the matter, hire more personnel or train the one they have working, I do not think it exists in this country a worse service than
We just moved to Lake Worth about a month ago the process for getting the electricity was fairly simple we just purchased the home so I didnt know exactly all the paperwork I needed, the wonderful woman helped me, and just told me to email her what was needed. Well since we have moved here for trying to update our property we received a fine for having a piece of plywood on our porch. We were informed by our insurance company that we needed to update the electrical box. Got a licensed electrician, within 30 minutes lake worth Utilities were out there searching for permits turned our electricity off. After paying 360, 160 in permits and 200 so they could climb back up the dam pole they refused to come out the same day and turn it on! So now on this hot muggy day, and all the mosquitos attacking us outside I want to thank the City of Lake Worth Beach for a warm welcome! Thanks
Can I give a negative star rating? I moved to Lake Worth 27 days ago under the belief that the utilities having been improved. Yet here I sit for the second time in these 27 days without power. Without electricity that I pay 16% more money for, than I did in Palm beach gardens. With FPL when there was an outage, trucks were fixing the problem immediately. Here in Lake Worth....the automated service line expressed 3 hours without power. I can assure you that if this experience continues, I will not be extending my lease another year and will relocate outside of the LW Utility area.
Shame on Lake Worth Electric
I agree with Heather who said her elderly parents were without electricity during Irma but the people across the street had electricity. This is common as the same happened to us- no electricity for over 6 days while people right behind us got it on 2 days before. Also we had no reduction in our bill while others bragged they had over $100 off. One resident posted on the Nextdoor website her bill after the hurricane was only $6.79. Waste of time to complain as we were switched to 4 representatives one worse then the next.Clearly the system needs a complete overhaul.
It should be called Lake Worthless Utilities....I grew up in Lake Worth and this company has always been a problem. High prices, terrible service, horrid service coverage and storm response. They literally do not give a shit. People in the area have no choice and have to just deal with the awful service. Example: my parents are stuck without service after Hurricane Irma while their neighbors, across the street, have electricity. This sort of thing has been happening for over 20 years and it never gets fixed. I'm really worried about my elderly parents in this heat...Please get your shit together Lake Worth Utilities or let FPL or someone else take over!
What is there to say about Lake Worth utilities...it's a service that leaves me speechless.
There is absolutely no reason that my utility bill in a 1 bedroom apartment should be over $150. And that's with my AC cranked at a whole whopping 80 degrees. Even with it off in the winter, my bill won't go below $40 and I'm EXTREMELY conscious of being efficient.
Lake Worth has so much potential and I would love to buy a home there but never will purely based on the insane price of utilities. Something needs to be done and it's discouraging to see a city that seemingly has done nothing.
The other review here is extremely accurate. UnfAirly high prices for electric & below average customer service. I encourage everyone to find out if they have Fpl before they buy or rent. I will Never ever buy a home that has lake worth electric. The only thing worse than that is Palm Springs water.
I'm writing this just out of pure frustration as I sit here with no electricity. Today is Sunday, its raining and hot. My latest ordeal with lake utilities began on Thursday at 3pm with a knock on my door and a gentleman telling .e I had a problem with my meter. He pulled it and told me that the ""lugs"" were bad and I'd need them replaced. Okay np I rent and there's an electrician on site. Says 10 minute job, the gentleman from the city tells me, ""oh no you'll need a permit and an inspection before I can reinstall the meter a d that won't happen today"". Flabbergasted, I asked what he could do in the meantime, since I have 2 small children and an elderly mother in law with a heart condition. Says he just doing his job a d that the power would stay off until the proper paperwork and inspection were done. When I further explained my situation he said its not his problem. Well I can't get an inspection till Monday, making it 3.5 days with no electricity. I cannot believe they do not have some emergency procedure for instances such as these. Sadly I'm not shocked by this. lake worth utilities is just ridiculous. I pay more for my service. Although my power does t go out ""regularly"" anymore, it still goes out from time to time. You can't get anyone on the phone. The employees in the office are very rude and unprofessional. At one point they turned mypower off by mistake, then asked me to pay a rreinstatement fee. When my wife went down to the office the lady told her that was procedure and that she'll have to pay this month a d next a d reinstatement fee before someone would come out. Had to speak with supervisor who reluctantly waived the fee. Then I had to wait hours for service tech. When my lease is up ill be moving from lake worth. Hope I get my power back tomorrow. .........
The city of Lake worth utility is the worst utility service in the state of Florida or maybe the country. The power goes out on average 3-4 times a week. To make matters worse they charge nearly 30%more than the competitor fpl. Unlike fpl when the power do go out and I must say that rarely happens, within days you get letter in the mail with an explanation of what happened. Lake Worth on the other hand, you get charged as if nothing ever happened. I like my apartment very much, as this continues to happen I started to have second thought about starting in this city for another year. I wish yelp would allow half a star or no star. Because Lake Worth utility doesn't deserve one.
I love where I live but lake worth utilities is the reason I'm moving out as soon as my lease is up.
First of all, they are too expensive. I'm stuck paying between $180-$300 a month and I just live in a small 2 bedroom apartment.
That's not the only problem. I paid my utility bill and they proceeded to bill my card twice. Not only did they take double my money, they also decided to disconnect my power a couple weeks later claiming that I never paid them. I printed my bank statement with proof of the payment and they only accepted this proof after speaking directly with the top supervisor. He apologized for the mix up and assured me that they would connect my power would be back on that same day.
So all is now well right? Wrong. They didn't turn my power back on that day. And ""that day"" was a Friday. Meaning that my wife, baby daughter and I won't have power the entire weekend.
Everyone I talk to that lives in the area has had equally dissapointing experiences with this company. Like I said before, I will never even consider living in lake worth again.
