THE MYSTERY OF THE HIGH-PITCHED SQUEAL:

This morning a piercing noise was emanating from our patio in the general area of the fuse box. An hour later, help was on the way...

After running thorough diagnostics these guys couldn't pinpoint the problem. The fuse box seemed fine, but the shrieking continued. They checked the attic, the roof, the basement, and everywhere in between. We had no answer, but these guys were tenacious...

After a little more problem-solving, the guys lifted the cover off our barbecue grill and found a battery-operated meat-fork with digital thermometer that for some reason had decided to squeal uncontrollably. The batteries came out, and the thing shut-up. Problem solved.

It wasn't an electrical issue after all, but these guys would not rest until they sorted out our vexing issue, and the next time we have a REAL electrical problem, we know who to call!

Wow! I called at 4:30 pm about a broken light switch at a rental property. Artin came out immediately and it was fixed by 5:30 pm. His prices are reasonable too. How good is that?!

1) Time: Very fast turnaround. I called for a quote at 3:30 PM. He picked up the phone immediately and scheduled an appointment for an estimate right away. He arrived at my house at 5:45 PM the same day. He checked out what I needed done, gave me a quote, and said he could do it on the spot rather than coming back another day. He finished all four tasks by 6:45 PM. Bam!
2) Courtesy: He was polite and respectful. He changed three lightbulbs without my asking and he didn't charge me for the bulbs. So that was a pleasant surprise!
3) Price: Admittedly, I know nothing about what an electrician should be charging. But I went to my trusty Internet. According to Home Advisor his price was very reasonable (http://www.homeadvisor.com/cost/electrical/). According to this other website his price was very high, but this price range estimate is from 2012 so it might be out of date (http://work.chron.com/much-electricians-typically-charge-per-hour-6397.html). So basically, I'm not positive what's standard in this area, but I am just going to accept that I'm not streetwise and assume it was all good. I'm just super relieved these four problems were fixed so quickly!
