Kirk M.Brock and his family are amazing! Responsive, immediately available to diagnose and recommend tests by phone to save money on them coming out unnecessarily, and the problem was solved perfectly and quickly! Highly recommend!!
Monique K.We have a 1977 condo with old outlets and switches. There was some troubleshooting needed and Lou was knowledgeable, thorough, professional and so friendly! He explained everything to us and the cost, for all the work he did, was more than reasonable. We will be keeping their number and refer La Costa Electric to anyone needing their help! Very pleased customers.
Outlets updated, new ceiling fan, created new outdoor outlet.
Lou is very professional, he explained all the work being done to fix the breaker that was tripping. Their team also beautifully installed a new fan for me. I couldn't be happier with the results. If you want quality work and great service this is the best company to use.
I had an emergency when a smoke detector started chirping loudly after an SDG&E power outage and there was no way for me to stop it! Brock was on the scene very quickly and he explained that this will happen to older, outdated detectors. He quickly installed a brand new unit that was bright white, replacing an uglified faded yellowish one that was 14 years old. So, he eliminated the chirps AND helped to beautify our home, killing two birds with one stone!
Brock has years and years of experience and he was a pleasure to deal with....he's a regular guy.
I like that. I highly recommend him!
I had a new outlet installed on a wall that previously didn't have one. Quick response, friendly, professional and looks great! Happy with the work.
Just a few notes in dealing with this company.
First, they don't charge by the hour.
Instead they have a undisclosed list of ""charges"" for doing various tasks. $90 to open a wall switch or outlet to ""check"" for problems was our experience. They proceeded to check six outlets and said the wire nuts were to small and one was loose, which the loose one is what we diagnosed.
So, no hourly billing. No disclosure of charges per work performed up front. Brock's said he called to talk, but we have no calls in our mobile call log, just a text with pictures of outlets opened.
Our bill came to roughly $800 to check six outlet and work on some under cabinet lighting. Replaced six wire nuts, tightened one.
2 guys on site and complained about the drive in traffic to get to Oceanside from La Costa.
Said if we didn't pay he would put a lean on the house. Please be aware if they don't put a preliminary lien notice on your house prior to performing any work and presenting it to you if will not stick. They can put a lien on the house but it won't end well for them....so don't believe any crap about liens when they haven't done this.
I also recommend asking the for each electrician that comes out, if they have a recent California Electrical Certification. Requirement for your insurance should you have a fire that each person be licensed. So, if they house burns and an electrician who performed the work didn't have this license up to date, your insurance company can void your fire insurance benefit.
Check license here... https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/ecu/ElectCert/ElectCertSearch.asp
Who knows now who came out and did the ""work"" had this license. Maybe so or maybe not.
These guys are awesome! I had a bit of an emergency and they were able to show up the same day and fixed everything quickly. Super nice guys and very helpful and skilled electricians!
Quickly identified and repaired the issue. Very reasonable charge. Would definitely recommend them.
I am so grateful for Brock and Lou! These guys are very responsive, super honest, extremely professional and nicest people you can meet! They were very helpful answering all my questions, super on time, delivered what they promised with great quality and kindness. At a heartbeat, with no doubt I recommend their work, and I will definitely continue working with them!
