L & R Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. began its journey in 1952 under the name L & R Filter Service. At that time, L & R Filter Service was the first and only ""tract home"" filter service in Southern California. Our services included furnace inspections and filter replacements for entire tracts of homes. Even after 50 years, we still receive calls from customers referencing the original stickers placed on their furnaces. L & R Filter Service was among the few pioneers equipped to service, repair, and modify installations during the rapid growth of forced air furnaces. In 1985, L & R Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. expanded its team with engineering professionals, skilled service technicians, and sales representatives. This growth provided the opportunity to service and install commercial projects, industrial applications, computer rooms, refrigeration, high-rise buildings, and tenant improvements alongside residential services.

I had a new heating and air conditioning system installed in my townhouse condo. L & R were considerate to my HOA rules and regulations. I was worried of the installers being in the way of neighbors because it involved using a crane, since I had a rooftop unit installed. They were on time and efficient not to block any entrances or driveways. I am thrilled with the installation and top notch service. L&R got the job done!!!!

I need to replace my furnace, so I called them made an appointment for a Carrier furnace quote. Just 10 mins before the appointment, a gentleman called me told me ""they are not going to be the cheapest bit (I received 2 more Carrier quotes), so they are not coming.""

I am so pleased with the great service L & R has provided to me over many years. They have installed and serviced my furnace and air conditioning and I have recommended them to neighbors and friends who thank me because they also appreciate the honest and extremely competent work that they have received. More than a year ago, one of my neighbors asked me for a referral because they had an estimate of work from another company and wanted to compare pricing. They learned from L & R that the other company was telling them they needed work that wasn't necessary. The repairs were done and their unit(s) have been working better than new because some mistakes had been made when originally installed. They saved thousands of dollars and are loyal customers now as well.

Very disappointed. Upsell was ridiculous. Never called me back when I asked about a different solution. Thankfully, got the heater fixed at a reasonable price. I'd still be waiting on L & R and would have had to take out a loan to pay for their fix. I'm sorry to have to write this since L&R put in our heating system and we were very pleased. Don't know what changed, but something sure has.

Just came back from work to an air-conditioned home! Thank you L&R for fixing the issue while I had to be at work and anxiously thinking of how my husband will deal with it especially after having an incompetent service guy charging us $475. (read my recent review on him if you want to make sure you don't call him).
My husband told me that the tech person from L&R was nice and professional. He spotted that our AC unit was very low on refrigerant so he added it (exactly the same thing the other guy ""did"" 2 weeks ago). He added the right amount of refrigerant with the right kind of refrigerant. Sounds like a common, basic process, right? He charged only the diagnostic fee and left us an invoice.
How I found L&R? After having a bad experience with the other AC guy I found on Yelp, I figured there are a lot of incompetent service providers buying fake Yelp reviews just so they get calls. So I eliminated those companies/services with hundreds of 5 star reviews but instead looked for companies with fewer reviews but still had great reviews that looked more real, like reviews from active yelpers with a lot of followers.
Too bad it's a challenge to find reliable, professional guys like L&R these days since there are so many unreliable services out there. Anyway, I highly recommend L&R for your next AC issues, and I'll call them again whenever I need help with my AC/heater.

The service rep that came to our home was timely and very professional. He was quick to determine the issue and was able to fix it. He also offered further recommendations for our home. We will definitely call them again.

Can't tell you guys how much I lucked out finding this company. Saw their company van driving and decided to give them a shout. From start to finish, the entire team helped in finding a resolution for my (and also neighbors in the same complex) AC unit. Basically our new home builder used cheaper UV materials to wrap our lines which became unsafe. They completed the task with no complaints even with obstacles such as our ac unit being on the roof of our 4th story building. You also can't beat their price! Very special thanks to Vince (our superb visited tech), Jeannine (the entire follow through), Dennis (the knowledge guru) and DeeDee (my initial contact) for such Awesome customer service. Don't be stupid and call a different company.

Great service and very professional! I had my AC/Heating Unit installed years ago and receive annual service. They make sure everything is running properly and replace your air filter if needed. They have great prices and provide excellent knowledgable service.

You can count on this company for their integrity, competence, and fair prices. Vince is fantastic. Highly recommend.

I would definitely recommend L&R to anyone having heating/air issues!
My heater suddenly stopped working and I was lucky enough to get their head HVAC service manager, Ralph out to my house. He immediately located the problem while inspecting the furnace; the thermocouple was loose so it wasn't making a great connection to my heater. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable he was and could tell he knows exactly what he's doing.
I mentioned that I was also having some electrical difficulties and it turns out he's a licensed electrician and ended up fixing the issue in my breaker box.
In the midst of COVID, he recommended an iWave air purifier while he was changing my filter and I will definitely be calling the office and requesting Ralph back to install that for me.
Overall great experience with their office and in-person service, I can see why they've been in business so long!
