Electrical panel upgrade is not a trivial matter. Not only it requires deep knowledge of the wiring systems and experience, Kurt from KW HOUR Energy had to orchestrate PG&E and inspections to be at the right place at the right time. Beautifully and efficiently done. Smoothly coordinated. Well worth the money.

We got our Solar Panels installed in 2019 by Sunergy Const Inc. they only worked for a year and we didn't notice until last year the beginning 2022 when we got out TruUp bill of the amount of $3000. We tried getting a hold of our solar company and no luck. A year later we finally got a hold of the manufacturer of the inverter who led us to Kurk Owner of KW Hour Energy. We called him late on Wednesday 2/15 and on Thursday 2/16/23 he was at our house after a long business trip. Kurk took care of everything from talking to the manufacturer through showing and explaining how the panels work and what to do if they shut down again. Kurk helped us set up our panels with the network showed us how the ENPHASE app works. He was an Angel sent to be honest. I wouldn't go with anyone else for our Solar needs than KW HOUR ENERGY. We have a unique situation, our property has a Santa Clara Valley Water District easement running through it. It turned out the 'easiest' way to install a ground mount system was to do a horizontal bore under the creek / easement. Most other Solar companies did not get involved when I mentioned that a permit is required with the Water District. We insisted on a ground mount system so that we could place the system in the most ideal orientation to ensure the panels would capture and perform at the most efficient level possible. Ensuring we would get the best return on our investment.

It took us a while to agree on a plan and a price, but once we did Kurt and his team performed very well. We got a premium solar set up (panels, inverters, etc.) installed in a very timely, professional and efficient manner.

Our 1st year results have been very impressive.

Best solar and battery backup installer out there! I highly recommend KW Hour energy for any solar needs. Kurt was diligent and responsive for the install, and was available after for questions. He hooked me up with the latest tech out there, even wowing the inspector. Now I can go off grid and save a chunk of change on my power bill while I'm at it.

Kurt from KW Solar did an outstanding job throughout the entire quote, purchase, and installation process. I found him through the ""Nextdoor"" application. Kurt utilized a tool to evaluate my power consumption from PGE by day and time of use to confirm I was getting the properly sized system based on my actual power consumption. He gave me options for different brands and explained the benefits and cost differences between them all. He was competitive on his pricing and managed the installation of the system.

Kurt coordinated all the permits, plans, and contracted installation. Kurt was present for all inspections with the city, and delivery of all goods and actually confirmed all parts were present from the supplier prior to starting installation to prevent delays. The whole project from contract approval to installation was approximately two weeks.

His contractor Ray did an outstanding job and was very professional and thorough. They both truly care about the customers and take pride in their work. If I ever buy another home I would definitely work with Kurt again.

We decided to get solar last year around August.Because we have a metal roof, we had to be sure they could install on our type of roof with the same warranties. We initially went with Petersen/Dean the roofing/window people. at the time we wanted Sun Power brand panels. After almost a year of going back and forth, and getting the run around, and NOT getting the discounts that we were supposed to get,they told us we could not get the panels we wanted, so our contract was void.Plus, the original Sun Power panels that were going to be installed were NOT the most efficient, which we had requested, but middle of the road, therefore needing more panels..more cost. However prior to that they actually tried to charge us for the roof inspection to get the solar. I'll NEVER recommend that company.
Then we went to another company, and the sales man said he could have Sun Power panels put on our roof. It seemed he could never answer our questions, so were were constantly going back and forth. Finally, just before the installation, Sun Power cancelled and said they would not put those panels on our roof. At this point we were pretty fed up with solar companies, and the dishonesty.
We were lucky enough to run across a guy who gave us another name and said this guy was the best and could have our solar installed quickly and efficiently, with the great guarantees as with other roofs- KW Hour Solar. Obviously after a year of run arounds and the excuses they gave us for not living up to the contract, we were skeptical, about even trying a third company. After our meeting, with the salesman (owner)Kurt Ames, we felt very comfortable. He was able to answer ALL our questions, and explained what to expect with the time frame and cost of having our solar system installed.The cost was basically the same even with the so-called discounts from Petersen/Dean and with the other company. We got our solar installed and done within a month, including, permits, installation and completion. It was connected to PG&E within two weeks from KWHour Solar.The installation went flawlessly without any issues or problems. I would highly recommend going with KWHOUR Solar. By the way the salesman, Kurt Ames was here during the installation, and made sure everything went smoothly. If we called with questions, he always called us back promptly. I forgot to mention we went with LG Panels, because they had upgraded their panels and were as efficient as Sun Power, by the time we installed solar.
