Kona Electric
Company Overview
KONA Electric has been delivering residential and commercial electrical services since the year 1999 in Contra Costa and Alameda County. I oversee the work personally and ensure my clients receive a respectful experience. I aim to give my clients valuable information about their projects, enabling them to make informed decisions that can affect scheduling and expenses.
While my official name is David, I am known as ""Nick."" I bring 30 years in the electrical field, working on everything from domestic electrical issues, residential remodels, bespoke residential construction to business ground-up construction. I believe it is essential for my clients to have the information they need to make informed choices about their projects. This data can influence time and cost, which I have found are two of the most critical factors for my clients when making decisions. I take pleasure in my work and value my clients, many of whom have become repeat customers.
I have decided to step away from remodels and additions, focusing instead on troubleshooting and repairs, installation of replacement fixtures and fans, as well as equipment repair and replacement. If you have doubts whether your project is one I would take on, feel free to inquire.

Apparently everyone calls him Nick because his last name starts with that sound, but I called him Dave! He didn't seem to mind.
Anyway, Nick is a great guy to work with in every respect. He installed a large fixture and a whole bunch of recessed lights for us (as well as some other smaller odds and ends that I asked him to help me out with) and he did a superb job. It was a monumental task. He had to climb in the attic, wade through tons of blow-in insulation, and through some stunning display of skill he was able to line up all the fixtures perfectly and cleanly in the room below. He came over before he did the job and told me what to expect and delivered in every way. Whenever I walk in that room I'm reminded what a great job he did. And he happens to be a heck of a nice guy, too.

He was really honest and forthcoming in what should be done without trying to upsell. I really like working with an owner/operator.
Good luck

We have used Nick from Kona Electric numerous times in the past 8 years. His work is top notch!

My wife and I used Nick on our home addition. I would gladly use him again. He is responsive and had good suggestions! Nothing negative to report!

Nick at Kona Electric was referred to us by our realtor to do an electrical inspection. While he said it would work fine for us I wanted it upgraded. Nick upgraded the line from the street, the box and the panel. Along the way I had him install new lighting throughout the house and added a few outlets as well. Everything he did was top quality and professional. My fiancé remarked how impressed she was that even though there was much cutting of holes in the walls for the outlets and the ceiling for the can lights Nick always made sure to make it seem like he hadn't even been there at the end of the day. I should mention that the lighting and outlets were jobs I added on mid project and Nick fit them in even though I fully expected him to have to reschedule since they weren't part of the original bid.
All in all anytime I need electrical done I'll call Nick at Kona. If you're smart you'll do the same.

Nick is fantastic at his work. He has a highly valued work ethic in the community and believes in getting the job done properly. I am a Realtor in the area and refer all of my clients to him and they are always happy with his work.

Will spend time explaining, but when it comes time for the actual work he does what is easiest for him and leaves you with something that you didn't quite want. I would not recommend him.
