In early 2023, residential real estate transactions began to face challenges as insurers revised their coverage terms to redline all properties with knob and tube wiring. Knob and Tube Replacement was founded by a multifamily developer and contractor with significant experience in permitting, managing projects, real estate development, and renovation, applying their knowledge to renovate properties to help owners obtain and retain insurance.

In March 2023, my wife Brandi, a property agent in the Bay Area, told me that a listing in the Sunset area of the city did not sell because the bidders who offered on it could not obtain insurance. That same week, two of her colleagues had buyers in escrow that were terminated by the providers because the property was found to have knob and tube wiring. That was the turning point that sparked the company.

My expertise is in real estate development and finance. I've built 400 residential units and have provided equity financing for the building of over 7500 apartments.
