As a family-run business, Knighten Electric offers comprehensive electrical contracting with more than 20 years of expertise in the Lowcountry region of SC.
Oree Knighten began his journey in the electrical field more than 25 years ago, building his skills in home, commercial, and manufacturing environments.
Before moving to South Carolina, he held the position of electrical superintendent at a salt mine in Louisiana for 11 years.
In this role, he oversaw the electrical program, developed safety protocols, designed programmable logic controls, and supervised a team.
Desiring to become self-employed and spend more time with family, he and his family moved to the Lowcountry to establish Knighten Electric.
Amanda and Oree Knighten are the proud owners of Knighten Electric.
Amanda contributes her background in communications and sales to the construction industry in South Carolina.
With over 24 years in the electrical industry, Oree has a wealth of experience.
He began his career by learning the trade through residential and commercial service calls while enrolled in a five-year electrical training program.
His career progressed through various commercial and industrial environments, including a paper mill, a nuclear power plant, and a salt mine.
Oree transitioned into project management, where he learned the significance of adhering to budgets and timelines.
Prior to his move to SC, Oree was the Electrical Superintendent at a salt mine, where he expanded his knowledge of programmable logic controls.
Upon exploring the Bluffton/Hilton Head area, the Knightens felt it was the right moment for a change and to embark on their journey of self-employment in a different state.
