AMAZING WORK -- AMAZING TEAM. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Honestly, how rare to find honesty. It is unfortunate, but these days it can get wildly scammy or running a bill up. AND THEN YOU MEET NORA AND TOM AT KAMA'AINA HANDYMAN and realize that, ""hey the world is still honest and helpful. And people still work in excellence for their clients."" After we had sent out a job quote to several handyman shops on the island well I am just so grateful we went with Kama'aina. The pricing was right, work was excellence and the proactive problem solving on site vs. possibly opening up a huge can of worms was impeccable and imperative since we were fixing things for the incoming buyer of our apartment. I am very happy with their work and even more grateful they confirmed my hope in humanity and handy helpers again if you need assistance they are the best and ask for Tom he's epic!

OK first off, these guys are honest. How far does honestly go? Well.... a lot. Secondly, polite. I tried to hire 3 plumbers recently. Kama'ina handyman ALWAYS got back to me and not only that, to me, they go above and beyond in trying to help. They come on time, they are courteous, they are always in communication. They are POLITE. Again,, why....? How bad can hiring a plumber be?

Well, another plumber did shoddy work, left blaming my house, then verbally attacked me. That's how bad it can get.

Not at Kama'aina handyman. I had a problem with my shower valve. They came and replaced the parts. Unfortunately there was a small leak. After being attacked by the other plumber (not Kama'aina Handyman).... I just decided to do it myself. But after a while, I wrote Kama'aina Handyman for advice and then they offered to come and take another look as part of a QC measure. They did NOT charge me for this visit. Pohai came and was polite, courteous, pretty much everything you want. He tried and was unable to fix the leak. There were a lot of variables (I obtained the parts), there were all sorts of pieces. Anyway, he tried and unfortunately the leak was still there but not for lack of trying. He did as well as I could expect and I totally appreciate them coming back.

Here's the thing about plumbing. Water is like electricity except when water is flowing uncontrollably, it's a bummer and sometimes parts don't come out easily etc... That's why you get a plumber or handyman. Good plumbers/handymen are worth their weight in gold.

Just because a plumber is more licensed or trained or has better insurance doesn't mean they are better. Another thing, read carefully when other places have a 1 star review - often times, this is the truth.

In the end, I fixed the problem myself, because while I do know something about water and electricity, I only do it myself after hiring someone else and if it seems possible to fix. I will be hiring these guys again for more projects. I wish they would also snake drains, but you can't have everything.

I have used Kama'aina Handyman 5 times and have never been disappointed. They came out the very day I called to get an estimate to mount two TV mounts installed as well as hanging two TV's. The guys came out and did a great job and really quickly. I will use them again.

Super responsive and professional! Joseph was able to give me estimates on the same day of inquiry, and we scheduled repairs immediately. They are very communicative - they confirmed the job via text and email, let me know when they were en route, and provided receipt upon completion. We are very happy with the quality of our bathtub repair as well. Thank you Kama'aina Handyman!

This was the second time we had Tim O'Malley help us. The first time was just to show us how to take the door off our refrigerator so we could move it out of the way to get another appliance into a narrow galley-style kitchen. The appliance delivery men did not know how to do it. Tim knew how and also gave us helpful hints for the new refrigerator.

Today, he came to install a new ceiling fan. He is a great worker, friendly, and liked our cats! We have always been pleased with the Kama`aina Handyman workers.

The 3 star is only because they dont give you an estimate! I had 2 closet doors.. bifold that didnt close properly
One that was minor.. sanding off the bottom so didnt scrape floor.. the other more work as hinge and wood trim was broken. They requested pictures and I sent them but no estimate. Tom told my husband it was time and material but never a quote!Tom did a great job.. BUT it cost $700!! I appreciated they could come within a day and not booked 3 weeks out so that was really nice!
I just would have liked to know ahead and of time to have an idea.
He was here 9 to around 1 pm at $100 an hour??
Hourly charging makes me uncomfortable.
Just give me an idea how much to expect without a SHOCKER bill payable
before they leave! Makes me nervous to use them again because I dont want to be worried how long they take etc!

I had an old faucet replaced; it was leaking and rusty. Kamaaina Handyman (KH) was easy to deal with and provided a fixed price estimate via email. Tom showed up on time and efficiently installed the new faucet. He was meticulous and did a great job. Tom cleaned up the area when he left. I'm very happy with the job and will be using them again. Highly recommended.

Jovan and his apprentice arrived on time to install 2-24"" gran bars along the linoleum walls of my bath tub. Jovan understood that I am wheel chair bound and he made sure I could reach the bars to lift myself to bath etc. the bars were securely installed and calked etc. then he did a great job cleaning up afterwords. When I mentioned my screen door was broken Jovan took a look at it and said he had time to fix it. Jovan and his apprentice also fixed my screen door. I would highly recommend Jovan Kamaina Handyman to do any repairs in your home.
