Recommended Customer Reviews

I have used JRP Electric (Bob Prince) on several occasions for various electrical jobs in my house: replacing faulty GFCI outlets, adding additional outdoor outlets, and custom lighting and fan installation.
I have been very pleased with Mr. Prince's level of experience and his professional demeanor. Like another review for JRP, one of the GFCI outlets Mr. Prince replaced was defective; however, when I called him he said it was still under warranty (sometimes new parts are just bad) and he would be happy to come back to my home and replace it at no additional cost to me. No problem!
His prices are comparable to other electricians. Mr. Prince is very fair and honest. He will provide you will all of the options possible to save you money if possible. The only slight negative (if you could even call it one) is that he is one busy guy so scheduling can be a bit of a challenge sometimes (frankly my schedule is very tight as well)...but I'm willing to wait for quality work conducted by someone I trust. Mr. Prince is busy for a reason..because he is truly that good at his trade.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We hired Bob Prince (JRP Electric/JRP Service) to connect the electricity from the house to a cottage style garden house we would be building in the backyard over the next 2 months. We also hired him to install a GFCI outlet on the outside of the house, and a 2nd GFCI outlet inside the garage next to a third installation for a 220 volt outlet. We assumed the outside GFCI outlet worked since the 220volt outlet and the GFCI outlet he installed inside the garage did. Unfortunately about 3 weeks went by before we would use this outdoor outlet and realize it did NOT work. On 8/8/13, I emailed, telephoned, and texted Bob about this inoperable outlet. When he returned my call, he accused us of breaking it and calling him to fix something that WE BROKE. At the end of the conversation, he told us he would stop by over the next few days to switch it out and return it for a refund. During this same conversation, we informed him that we would no longer use him to finish the wiring that he started for the garden house since we were offered a TURN KEY BUILD from a reputable builder. This turn key build encompassed multiple trades, including the electrician. He was furious to hear this and accused us of using HIS permit for the new electrician. Over 2 weeks went by without him returning to fix this outdoor outlet. On 8/24/13, I eventually asked the new electrician to make it a working outlet so that the workers could power their tools more conveniently. I sent an email to Bob informing him that I had the outlet fixed and he needs to reimburse us for the $35 it cost to have it fixed. On 8/26/13, he called back, furious as ever, accusing us once again, of breaking this outlet, and also of using his building permit for the new electrician. I sent Bob an email with a pdf attachment of the letter we submitted to the Round Rock Building Dept. dated 8/13/13 where we requested that they remove JRP Services and add the new electrician information. I also informed him that I would be reporting him to the BBB and the Home Advisor Network.
