Jesus quoted a price in response to my request for some recessed lighting. When he arrived, with his helper, he advised that he would have to get the lights and wire to complete the job. He told me he would provide the receipt and I would pay that.
I assumed that would be included as part of the original estimate, so I agreed. When he completed the job, which I was happy with, (for the most part), he handed me the receipt, which totaled a little over $200.00 dollars. He then advised that the labor cost to do the job was $400.00 dollars.
I then had a discussion with Jesus regarding the price he originally quoted, which was between $400.00 and $500.00 dollars to complete the job. There was never any discussion prior regarding parts being paid for, in addition to the labor. My understanding was the quote was to include parts and labor. I told Jesus that he should have mentioned that at the time he originally bid the job. We eventually settled on $550.00 dollars for the job.
In spite of this, Jesus seems to be a hard worker and does good work. He just needs a course in business management.
