We hired John to install an electric charging station at our home. We was friendly, prompt, professional and clearly very qualified. The install looks great and we're glad we went with him.

This was the second time I have used Blythe Electric. Both times have been great. Response and appointment from John was prompt. Julio came out to address the wiring of a dishwasher and was very methodical and thorough. He did a fine job throughout. I plan on using Blythe Electric for my future electrical needs.

I was panicky about a small electrical issue. Mr. Blyth personally while on the phone with me literally walked me through to solving the problem. He could not have been nicer nor more professional.

I'm giving two stars for quick response and kindness. However I will never use this electrician again- a complete rip off. When the technician arrived with his wife(?) they would not give me an estimate on the job they came to do, they would not even tell me what they were charging me per hour. That was a huge red flag to me. Then the bill arrived, sent from a Tiburon location down the street from my house. Apparently I was charged ""drive"" time. There is absolutely no break down on the bill either. I called to ask about the bill because surely they wouldn't be charging me $200+ an hour. Well I was wrong according to the owner- based on his ""breakdown "" of charges. Unless I had a full estimate first I would not use this company.

Mr. Blythe gave us excellent advice over the phone regarding a smoke detector!

Don't ever use this outfit!! He charged me for two visits (over $250.00) to change a timer!! They misdiagnosed the first time. When I told him the issue was still there, he charged me again to come back to fix it.!! I complained and he refused to change. What a rip off!!!

John Blythe (seemingly operating under various names and at diverse email addresses -- why?) quotes me $750 for installing a 220V plug in my garage near the electric panel. I had the exact same job done (in a more complex wall layout) in San Francisco by licensed, bonded Kazavis Electric in under one hour for $200 all included (parts and labor) less than 2 months ago at another address. Imagine my reaction at his quote. We agree to go time and material instead. His contractor shows up on the set day-, nice and competent- except that he spent 45 minutes looking for the 220V plug in his truck -- he had to empty his full bed on my driveway, to no avail. A little annoyed, I went to pick it up myself nearby, which cost me 45 minutes out of my work day (I work from home as a technology consultant). I paid for it of course. When the invoice comes... it lists 2.5 hours (the guy stayed an hour and forty five minutes all in all), with $88 for parts (!), and -- the funniest part! -- a $75 ""John: Look at job"" charge. I never saw this before, found it very creative. Needless to say, I don't recommend John Blythe to anybody. Actually I recommend everybody to stay away. What happened to me isn't a misunderstanding or an error that can be corrected -- it is outright willful gouging attempts.

If you have an electrical problem John and Gary are the guys to call! We had a complicated problem that 2 other electricians and 3 visits from PG&E could not resolve. In fact John was the one who figured out what was causing our power problems and fixed it. I highly recommend this company for any of your electrical needs. They are experienced and talented.

John is super helpful and really offers a quick and friendly service. We had a short on a Saturday morning (ugh) and he returned my call in less than five minutes and had someone out to help us in no time. He did a follow up call to check everything and was really attentive. This is what I call true customer service.
