This review is long overdue. I've been using Joel Hatch for the past 5 years on various jobs: floor repair, roofing, electrical work, and etc... You will never meet an honest owner like Joel. He is honest, transparent, and knowledgeable in everything he does. He is a perfectionist so aesthetics is important to him. The work he does is perfect. We are so happy with the fan installation, installing lights, and etc... all of which requires extensive holes. With Joel's work, you can't tell the mess that was created as his patching work is superb. I like to add that everything he does is up to code. I trust him to ensure he follows all code.

I was looking for a Licensed General Contractor and I decided to call Joel Hatch Electrical & Construction.
I spoke to Bob Hatch who is the owner of this company. Bob showed up at my house to give me an estimate. Bob kept his appointment & showed up on time which some Contractors will NOT do. As I am sure, everybody can relate, trying to find a good licensed general contractor & planning everything for your house remodeling project is very time consuming & can be expensive & stressful. Bob, however, was genuine, honest & easy to talk to. Bob answered all of my questions & provided me with new ideas.
Bob is a very responsive & understanding person. If you are looking for a Licensed General Contractor, you should call Bob. You WON'T be disappointed.

Joel is simply phenomenal. After having such a great experience with him installing an EV charger in our previous home, we hired Joel to do a bunch of work in a new home we just purchased. We had him reinstalling the EV charging station to new outlets, adding recessed lights, hanging and installing all of our TVs, installing kitchen and dining light fixtures, ceiling fans, and a heater for the bathroom, setting us up with a robust Wi-Fi network throughout the house, and adding light switches for new lights in closets. He helped our Spectrum technicians who couldn't figure out how to run a line from the cable junction in the street to our house.

He is always professional and easy to work with. He is happy to explain anything we need. He even rushed to our house when we had a mishap with one of our TV's after we unsuccessfully tried to unhook it from the mount, which left it dangling from one end. Joel was modest and generous with his time.

We really lucked out finding Joel. We enjoyed working with him so much, I kinda wish I had more for him to do! He is One (darn) Good Electrician!

Bob Hatch did a great job for us and we are very happy that we had read the Yelp reviews and decided to call him. Mr. Hatch was able to successfully handle complicated permit paperwork in the city of Pasadena. Mr. Hatch is punctual, efficient , reliable, and
his hourly rate is reasonable.
We know that we will be no need for us to look for a contractor again in the future--we will simply call Mr. Hatch.

Highly recommend Joel Hatch and his father Bob Hatch, licensed contractors. Joel specializes in electrical, as well. With their top-notch woodworker, Santiago, they remodeled my kitchen. Bob and Santiago later put in a Trex fence for me, and just now Joel, Bob, Santiago and David finished the wall base moulding and appliance re-installation on a Marmoleum Click floor job in my kitchen/dining/family room (working with Felikian's, Pasadena). Nice people, which is important. But beyond that, Joel, Bob and Santiago are all superb problem solvers and don't walk away until every detail is right.

Joel replaced our electrical panel in 2012 the day we moved into our home. The 50+ year old panel was a huge hazard and appeared to have a faulty switch, which actually turned out to be due to a broken breaker on our AC but it was still junk and had to go. Joel helped us get everything up and running quickly and the price was very affordable, and he was really prompt and very professional. There were issues that caused him to have to come back the next morning, but he took extra steps so that we would have power during the evening which was super helpful because it was our move-in day. He recommended a great panel that can handle the demands of a modern home, I have never had a more reliable panel. It's been 2 years and we have not had any problems related to the electrical work done, I would definitely hire him again and I recommend him to anyone.

Best contractors at any price. I think the first job Joel did for me was running a line under my driveway 10 years ago. Since then he has installed a fence, repaired the laundry room after a slow 1 year leak that rotted down to the joists, moved and upgraded my electrical panel, replaced a bathroom, moved my AC compressor, replaced my roof and installed solar fans, installed french doors, a double swinging door, a pocket door, crown moulding and I think that is about it. All if this work has been done 1 job at a time over the years. I give everyone 1 chance and 1 chance only. I would not have Joel or his crew back if they did mediocre work. They are neat, honest, stick to their schedule and do work that will last a lifetime. When they are done, the work is finished.

Have you ever done any home construction. It is very stressful. Joel appreciates this and tries to make his impact as slight a possible.

Funny aside, I recommended Joel to a friend for a new roof and fence. One evening right after the work was completed my friend was in her backyard with her parents having a BBQ. She noticed the fence was ok, but the top of the fence was not completely plum. Her father said something to the effect that people don't do the same quality of work as they used to. My friend said the fence was fine, just not perfect and it was not enough of an issue for her call Joel back to correct. The next day my friend came outside and found Joel's dad in the back yard plumming the fence. When she asked what he was doing he said ""The fence is not square, we can't leave it like that. This is our business card. I don't want you sitting out here with your friends noticing a bad fence that we put in""

I recently had Joel re wire my home. He did an excellent job. I will be referring him to everyone I know. I got three estimates from different licensed electricians and his price was right in the middle. He is very conscious of the fact that he is working in someone's home and keeps everything clean throughout the entire job. I also hired Joel to upgrade my electrical panel. All of his work conforms to the state and local codes. He is licensed and bonded which makes me feel safe knowing my home isn't going to burn down due to faulty electrical. I am somewhat picky and Joel was very understanding and didn't raise the price of the original estimate. I have found an electrician for life!

I contacted Bob Hatch with a project to repair my windows. He quoted me and we set a day and time to do the work. He shows up on time and asked for a electrical outlet so he can plug in. He told me to come back at 3:00. I came back and found Bob talking on the phone. I asked how did the windows turn out. ""I cant do anything with your windows"" He is back on the phone and then a flat bed truck pulls up in front of my home.
He then tells the caller. ""Your material just showed up. I will be there in 5 minutes. He tells me good bye and walks away. No reliability, no Loyalty,
no integrity. Its now Joel Hatch Construction but the apple does not fall from the tree.

I had Mr. Hatch rewire my garage, add some high voltage outlets for a home welding machine...Then cabinets and storage for hobbies...
Almost looks too good to work in....I love it - Great price
