This company was called out several times on different properties that I have home warranty's on. Their technicians are lazy and look to do no work. So they always say secondary damage so they won't have to fix it. This is a terrible company. Do not use them.

**UPDATE**
Spoke with the home warranty company about our claim and the report sent to them from this company; despite the electrician who came to the house and noted multiple code violations, the report sent to the warranty company (per the warranty company) stated there were NO code violations and it was an electrical overload issue only. Meaning someone is lying, and since this company does not answer their phone nor emails I am sure there is fraud happening somewhere.
**END UPDATE**

I have tried calling this company all morning with no ability to speak with anyone. I have read the reviews and this is the company that was referred by Fidelity National Home Warranty. I have been trying to get a report from them because I feel the warranty company is lying about them in my report which is why I am being denied service. The technician that came to our property agreed with an electrician I hired as a second opinion (events occurred that the 1 I hired came first though). I have emailed and I have tried calling and have gotten nowhere, so unless it is proven otherwise, it is possible that I was told one thing and when the report was sent to the warranty company it was changed so I would be denied service. What is the issue in question? Incorrect wiring that can cause my home to catch fire, the wiring and subunits are also code violations which JC Electrical did state which is in agreeance with the other electrician, but the home warranty company stated JC Electrical informed them of no code violations within our home.

If your home warranty assigns this place, run. Believe the reviews and do not let this company come to your home.

They assigned a young man to come to my house to assess why the power on one side only of my house kept going out daily to eventually completely going out. Mind you - PG&E and another electrician came prior to me going through home warranty so I already knew what the issue was.. fast forward, the young man shows up, has no idea what the issue is. He's looking around my house, then he says he needs to call his boss. He turns off my power 7 times and then comes and tells me it's the main breaker that needs to be repaired. I told him PG&E and another electrician came and were able to pinpoint the problem so fast, that it was the main panel and this brand I have has known issues of failing & causing house fires. He proceeded to tell me PG&E AND the electrician were lying to get money because panels are expensive. So.. I called yet another electrician and they came out and said the exact same thing. The main panel is bad and is going to catch on fire. He had me do my own research to prove he wasn't lying and I did a quick google search and boom - these panels are known for catching fire and should be replaced asap.

I told this back to the warranty company to tell JC and they still disagreed. They also NEVER answered any of their phones after I called like 5x. I don't know why these home warranties still work with this company.

If your Home Warranty service assigns this company for electrical work, beware! Take a look at the other, recent one star reviews - I'm now another unhappy and angry customer.

Edit - 2/27, in response to the owner's comment below.

I disagree with your version of the facts - for instance, I said that I was happy for you to reschedule after talking with the technician when he was back in the office. I got no response to that except ""I don't know what to tell you.""

I do apologize for continuing to try to talk with your dispatcher when she refused to listen to anything I had to say. I was angry, and so was she. I asked to speak with you, and she refused. Still, there's no excuse, and I'm sorry I lost my cool.

You say how disappointing it is to see reviews like this!

I think you should ask yourself why you see the same types of complaints and one star reviews going back for years. You might think it's normal for any business, but I can assure you that it isn't. Here are a few that are repeated over and over by different customers:

- You don't answer calls, or return calls after multiple voicemails.
- The woman on the phone has an attitude, and/or hangs up on the customer.
- There's a discrepancy between what the technician tells the customer, or what the customer understands, and what ends up in AHS records.
- You don't follow up on existing issues that require a return visit.

Your technician was great. I would hope that your customer service can also maintain a professional, friendly, and problem-solving approach.

I'm also in business, and customer service is a critical factor in long-term success. This means listening carefully to your customers, and taking their feedback seriously. I hope you take this feedback in a positive way.

I think all of those points above can be solved, and I'm happy to talk with you further. Feel free to give me a call.

--- original review

My problem is not with the initial technical work, which was fine. My problem is with JC Electric's awful communication and customer service. Massive fail on their part.

Summary: JC Electric didn't return multiple calls. When a return visit was set up, the technician had no idea what he was coming for. The documentation from the first visit was incomplete. The dispatcher insisted that since my issue wasn't on the work order, they had no responsibility. At no point did the dispatcher even hint at a positive resolution.

Here's the long story, which you don't need to read. In short, to paraphrase another 1 star review, avoid JC Electric and save yourself the aggravation, at least until they clean up their act.

-- more detail below

We needed to have someone return to reinstall a switch that the initial tech didn't have at the time - he suggested that I call the following day, during business hours, which I did. No answer, so I left a voicemail. I left many voicemails over the next few weeks, with no response.

When the second technician arrived, no one had communicated the issue with him, so he didn't have the part either. He called his dispatcher, and this is where things went south.

Rather than trying to understand and resolve the problem, she implied that I was the problem. She basically stuck to these two points.

1. It's not on the work order.
2. JC Electric never got any voicemails from me.

When I insisted that she respond to my concerns, all of which had been ignored, she, told me that the technician is leaving and will not return. She said that I would have to contact AHS and request another provider. We were both angry, and things got worse from there.

I called AHS, who promised to resolve the issue at no additional charge to me (which is the right thing to do - thanks, AHS!). I did ask them to look into the pattern of customer complaints, and save future AHS customers from headaches like this.

Jose came out and fixed my lights. They worked when he left, but the next day they were out again. 4 messages, an email and 2 weeks have gone by and have not heard back. Had to get another electrician to come out and he said the wiring was done wrong.

Caused electrical buss on my panel - they replaced my outlet for my heater which caused the breaker to blow out and cause damage to my panel requiring a new panel.

LOOK AT THE MANY 1 STAR REVIEWS and, then be afraid ... BE VERY AFRAID !!

Unethical. If you have bad experience PLEASE report to BBB, https://www.dca.ca.gov/, (Dept of Consumer Affairs).

UPDATE 1/17/23: Called AHS again today and told that this contractor JUST reported authorizing a repair that was originally requested on Dec 22nd, and has also claimed that they repeatedly tried to come out to my home and repair/return motor?!!! ... (so why would they just request authorization for repair if they reportedly already came by so many times). Now after all of the lying and back and forth they have told AHS today that they are refusing to do the work and would ""bring my motor back"". However, JC Electrical has lied on numerous occasions, telling AHS that they'd come by and I wasn't home, etc, etc, etc ... and In spite of all of the inconsistencies with JC Electrical's story, AHS is OK with this and saying that there is nothing that they can do with these people but for me to wait and continue paying my monthly fee. AHS is in fact saying that I must either accept this unethical contractor's work or AHS can pay me a stipend to find my own contractor, However AHS will never be responsible for that repair moving forward. WHAAA ... am I living in an alternate reality. I have a warranty with AHS with an unethical contractor that is not being honored. Of course I will cancel the AHS contract but I just want someone to know about JC Electrical ... and now AHS ... and their equally unethical business practices. Stay away from BOTH!

______________________________________________

My warranty company (American Home Shield (AHS) sent these people out on Dec 22. These people are a joke and should not be on anyone's contractor's list. This review is as much an indictment of AHS, the warranty company, as it is of the contractor. The JC tech determined that my exhaust fan needed replacement and took the motor. After several follow-up attempts at calling to find out status I contacted AHS. JC never picked up or returned any 's, yet every time that I called AHS, they got through right away. JC has told AHS so many lies in the process of my trying to get help ... from claiming that they'd talked to me and given me status, to ordering the part, to saying that they'd returned the motor and come by but i wasn't home ... and in more than 15 follow-up calls to my warranty company to complain; still nothing has been done. Never mind it's almost been a month and i am still paying AHS monthly charge and $100 service fee ... it can't be news to them that this contractor is shady. Not by looking at the many negative reviews below which state that this was the contractor that their warranty company provided. And good for the folks that have given 5's for service in the last month ... I guess they somehow figured out the correct return address for your appointment because they sure haven't been back to my house. Lesson, and I hope this is resolved soon, if you have a choice when your warranty assigns this one ... chose another one .... Otherwise, don't waste your time. Yes, there are 5's here, but look closely and you will see that the many instances of 1's and hassles associated with dealing with these people ... are not worth taking the chance on being one of the 5's. Trust. They are unethical in their business practices, and possibly in the quality of their work), who knows since they never came back. Also shame on any warranty company that continues to use this company after multiple complaints about their service and ethics (and yes, I'm looking at you AHS)!

I have a home warranty and have had mixed experiences with getting issues resolved (not with this company, but with others) . Eddie from JC Electrical was wonderful. He was very professional and showed up, listened to my concerns (a little vague) and we talked through some potential problems. I appreciated that he met me where I was regarding electrical power surges, older electrical (not grounded), and voltage requirements. We were able to resolve the issue in a timely manner. This guy should get a promotion or spot bonus!

I had very bad experience with them. I had an issue with electric circuit breaker. My work is assigned to JC Electrical through my home guard home insurance. But they never pick up the call. They don't bother to call you back even after leaving the voice mail. Stay away with this service.

They never pick up the phone or return calls despite leaving voice messages. And, they do not respond to emails either.

Worse is they send incorrect and illogical report to warranty company messing your claim. They tell you something and write totally different stuff in their report.

What they told me:
""I had a short circuit at my property and circuit breaker did not trip. After fixing the fault, technician said that the circuit breaker is old and should be replaced. "" Circuit breakers at my property are indeed old, not new.

Report JC Electrical sent to HomeGuard HomeWarranty Company:
""Rewired a short in the transformer above the sub panel. The customer is concerned because his 15 amp zinsco breaker did not trip, but the breaker did not trip because there was no need to. Rewiring the short fixed the issue and the breaker is new, no need to be changed out, the customer just wants a new breaker because it did not trip.""

Email I sent to JC Electrical to which they never replied:
""Can you please help me understand why the breaker NOT tripping automatically is normal in this case with short, burnt wires, and neutral wire that became hot? And, how did you decide the age of the breaker calling it new?""

I tried calling their office multiple times every day since the repair, left voicemails but couldn't get through and no one returned the call either. Sending them an email was my final attempt to which they didn't respond either.

Stay away from JC Electrical and save yourself some inconvenience.
