Awesome company! I was updating my light switches to rocker switches and discovered that back in the day, the builder ran 2 wires to one screw. When I was trying to remove the switches, I ended up breaking a wire and decided it was probably much safer to call a professional than continue and potentially mess up everything even more. I messaged through Yelp at 11pm and Mark responded promptly and said he would reach out the next day to let me know about their availability. Mark kept me updated and he and his associate were able to come out and fix my booboo as well as rewire it correctly. Since I plan on updating the rest of the switches in my home, he patiently listened and answered my questions when I asked about some YouTube videos about pigtailing since I was sure most of the switches were probably wired with the 2 wires on 1 screw. Overall a really great experience and would highly recommend these guys to anyone seeking honest, great electricians! These guys will be my go-to for any of my future electrical needs.

I reached out for an estimate on the installation of some minimal outdoor lighting. Jacob's Ladder responded promptly and a technician was out to our house within a day. The technician really listened to what we were trying to do and after some discussion with my husband, he realized that we actually didn't need much help. He gave us a few tips, pointed us in the right direction, and was on his way. WOW! I am so impressed! He didn't take advantage of our lack of knowledge in order to make a few bucks. I had Mark and Neil out for two jobs. One was interior; new ceiling fan/light combo and replace all cabinet under mount lights. I had a previous electrical tell me the light on the fan was bad, so I bought a new one. They discovered the wiring to the on off switched was incorrect and fixed it. They also did a great job on the cabinet under mount lights. Second job, exterior home master breaker box, upstairs AC unit fuse stayed tripped. Mark came out at 7pm, discovered a wire was bare and arching the ground, it was also the wrong gage wire for the amps required. They came out capped off old wiring ran the correct gaged wire, replaced the fuse, and it works great. They were priced well, great service, and finished the job to completion. Jacob and his associate are fantastic. I recently bought a house and had some GCFI and breaker issues come up during the inspection I hired them to address. When they came out they discovered the GCFI plugs were wired incredibly wrong, and would have caused major issues. They explained to me simply how it was done wrong, what they were doing to fix it, what the costs would be, and thoroughly checked around to make sure they did not miss a plug. I also casually mentioned a light switch that was annoying me, and they were able to quickly explain what was wrong with it and fix it. He also noticed I had a ring doorbell and nest thermostat I had not installed yet and offered a quote to install. I went ahead and had them do the doorbell and he did a great job.

Fast forward a few months and when we went to use an outside plug, it started smoking. When I messaged them again through yelp, he came out that very day. Thankfully Jacob assured me that it would not have burned down, but showed me yet again what had caused it, and what he was doing to insure it would not happen again and at what price.

The bottom line is that Jacob (and his associates) have always been great to work with, incredibly helpful, with reasonable prices. And they like dogs. I know I will use them again in the future, and have already recommended them to others.

So happy I contacted Jacob! The day after Christmas, I was cleaning up a huge mess in the kitchen. I turned on the garbage disposal and after about 2 seconds, the disposal and the dishwasher turned off. I assumed it was a breaker, but after checking everything I know how to do with no luck, I searched yelp for an electrician. Because of his super high reviews, I sent Jacob a message. He replied within 10 minutes, and even though I let him know I didn't consider this an emergency, especially the day after Christmas, he let me know that depending on the cause, it could be a dangerous issue and he would be over within the hour. He was on time and found the cause of the problem and fixed it. It was a melted down component in the outlet, so it actually could've been dangerous. Unfortunately, it had fried my dishwasher, but he still tried for well over an hour to fix it. At least I got my disposal back, and the dangerous situation no longer existed.

While he was there, he suggested I consider a ring doorbell and let me know that he installs those all the time. I just happened to have one that I hadn't gotten around to installing yet, and so he offered to do it right then.

All of this to say, Jacob is a super nice guy and sincerely wants to take care of his customers. I felt like his prices were fair as well.

I have a few jobs in mind for the near future and I will definitely contact Jacob for those!
