In 1949, Jackson Electric began by Tennis and Alma Jackson, and has been a reliable provider of electrical and security services in West Alabama for over a generation. Residential and commercial security services were launched as part of the electrical services in 1953.

During 1972 Chuck Turner join as a stakeholder of Jackson Electric and expanded security system design and implementation. In 1978 the separation of the firm's safety solutions from the power division, and in 1982 it became the dedicated security branch. During that year, JSS purchased a competitor in security in the Tuscaloosa area.

In 1988, he acquired both the electric and security services and combined the companies. The year 1992 marked, Turner's son, Brad was appointed Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and the year 2000, Essary was brought on as Vice President and General Manager.

The year 2014 marked, Jackson Electric Services combined with a like-minded business in the local region. At present, Jackson Security Services carries on its focus to service. Essary continues to lead the company as the VP and General Manager.
