I can't rate service with this company at this time. I was contacted on December 2nd to inform me that they can't schedule the work until next month. I was asked if I wanted a quote in the meantime. Recently hired Javier to install a whole-house surge protector and a couple of light fixtures. The whole experience was great from beginning to end. Javier was prompt in coming over to give us a quote and also in scheduling the work appointment. His work was prompt and efficient and his prices were very reasonable. Such an amazing service. First he responded very quickly and was able to come when it worked best for us. Our family just recently moved into a newly built home and needed some ceiling fans put in. He came out early today and installed the fans. He also found some wiring that was done incorrectly when our home was built and fixed it for us. I would 100% recommend J Rivas Electric to anyone. Called Javier about a possible wiring issue with an outside light. He was able to come fix it the same day I called and was considerate about updating me on his estimated time of arrival, which I appreciate. In less than an hour, he had my outside light working again. I definitely recommend him.

I contacted them about a circuit that went dead in the house, and also asked to add GFCI outlets in our house that was built in the 70s before GFCI was a thing. He was very prompt about returning my call and scheduled a visit for the next morning. He figured out the problem quickly and took care of everything in short time. He was very good about COVID protocol, even disinfecting the new outlets he installed.

I inquired about updating the electrical panel, as the wiring is old. He talked me out of it, saying the current setup was fine as long as I wasn't having problems. I'm impressed he didn't jump at the chance to upsell me.

The cost was reasonable and service was great, would definitely recommend.

It is so hard to find a good electrician. Javier was great! We had a relatively straight-forward electric panel replacement that the County and PG&E turned into a complicated project. Javier remained patient, professional and his fees for the extra work were more than fair. Javier is immediately very professional and you have confidence in his honesty and ability. Highly recommend!
